Statistical evidence Colts favored by Refs

This thread has some merrit to it. That is a MASSIVE difference!

I don't think there is any question the refs favor the Colts.

WHY, is the question.

Re: Statistical evidence Colts favored by Refs...No doubt about it

Did you see the reversal of the Utech fumble today!

The Ref (Terry McCauley) reversed a CLEAR fumble and instead of calling Utech down, he said that the pass was incomplete after Utech CLEARLY had possesion of the reception.

Next play................touchdown pass to Reggie Wayne.

Make NO mistake, NFL officials ARE CLEARLY favoring the Colts!!!!!!!!!!

your supposed to have complete possession of the ball all the way to the ground and it got stipped before he was down, therefore an incomplete pass...everybody is so convinced the refs are helping the Colts that every single time there is a call like that, everybody goes nuts

Re: Statistical evidence Colts favored by Refs...No doubt about it

NEM and I were talking about this same issue earlier today. And, as some of you have pointed out here, it happened again today:

Jaguars 8 penalties for 64 yards

Colts 2 Penalties for 15 yards

Now it could be that's just the difference between a more disciplined team and a less disciplined team. But this seems to be the case CONSTANTLY - and, more to the point, every time I watch the Colts it NEVER passes the eye-test. It's ridiculous.

when the "time" is 12 to 14 times a game, well yeah, that's why everyone is going nuts.

when the Patriots are flagged for more penalty yards than ever in team history by the end of THREE quarters and the Colts get a couple of meaningless 5 yard penalties, it's safe to say that SOMETHING is rotten in Denmark. Of course, Colt troll denies everything....very Nixonian in that respect

You could say Bill Polian because he is probably the most outspoken person on the competition committee

You could say Peyton Manning because he's become the face of the NFL.

You could say Tony Dungy, a well respected SuperBowl winning head coach.

You could say that the Colts are the most popular team in the NFL. But if popularity was the reason, then can anyone explain why Dallas, New England and Green Bay are way more penalized than the Colts and are arguably just as popular?

But my answer would be Bill Polian. And if this were proven true, then shouldn't there be some investigation that a member of a league committee is having influence on the outcome of a game in favor of the team that he is the General Manager of?

what that doesn't show is the false start penalty they called on the jags right after we was going for a pick 6..

Yeah, this is clearly one of those times the refs were trying to help the Colts (per Polian's orders) and it backfired on them. Once the flag is out, no taking it back.

I'm sure said ref will get a note from Big Bad Bill on Monday.

I'd be curious to know how all the teams with members on the Comp Comm do with penalties. I recall when Don Shula was a HC and on the comm. there were similar stats with the Dolphins compared to thier opponents.

Yeah but none of us that watch tv are trained to make the right calls, its not like were all down on the field to see what the refs see. If the shoe was on the other foot you would feel the same way im sure. I have heard people say that you could call holding on almost every play.

Yeah with them right on the field, right on top of the players you'd think they'd make the right call. You'd think that wouldn't ya?

They didn't call that a complete pass did they?

do you have a link to the video from this, thats kind of hard to tell because he could have dragged his foot and been in bounds..

Yes they did. BB had to burn a challenge on it. And everyone could tell it was a terrible call at the time.

Uhm yeah. One "official" on each side of him. He clearly came down out of bounds and they called it a catch. BB had to waste a challenge and then the zebras had no choice they had to over turn it. But, as usual they did all they could to be Manning's little helpers.

And here's video for ya.

i can GARANTEE YOU, it was called a complete pass....and a 7yr old watching said that was out....

apparently however the ref's trained eyes msut have been looking elsewhere, cuz EVERYONE saw he was out, except of course, one of those judges...i mean, they were a WHOLE 3 yards away...

and denying it really wont get u anywhere, those are the facts...the colts are i woudldnt say favored, but they defenetely dont get called us much, not sure why....i would put Bill Polian up there as the number 1 reason myself too

I remember that now, Im glad they were able to get it right..that picture is hillarious by the way..

I didn't even have to look at the video I remember it now that he was totally out and it got reversed after the idiot called him inbounds..

You hear it a lot in baseball that players just want the ump to call balls and strikes consistently. You'd have to think football players want the same thing. From watching football games, I have no idea what is and isn't pass interference.

the refs are helping the colts, and that was a fumble. Ok? thats it dude, dont respond to this because it wont matter what you say, because the colts are babied by the nfl.

This just confirms what I've always believed and that is that Bill Polian has intimidated these officials to the point of fear. You see it every game the Colts play, the officials fear the wrath of Polian the following Monday, it's corruption to the nth degree.............

Don Shula served on the rules committee and his teams were always among the least penalized in the NFL.

Check out what Wikipedia says about this...

Shula's teams were consistently among the least penalized in the NFL, and Shula served on the Rules Committee, to help change the game to a more pass oriented modern league.

Sound like someone else we know?
