iam a little surprised why we are underestimating the jets so much. they were a better team than their record last yr and their biggest issues were inconsistency at QB. they have not only upgraded that but also the off line and def line. not to mention the excitement it will be bring to the rest of the players on their team.
i sure hope we will beat the jets but i think they are a much better team now than we are giving them credit for.

And Brady has better WR. And better RB. And an overall better defense (although I like the Jets' DBs better).

I think that YOU are underestimating our team. Let me guess, they didn't bring in any big names for you to get excited about. The Jets did, so that makes them better? Pulease. We were better before they brought in all of those so called big names. I expect the Big Names that we brought in last year to improve. I also expect our defense to be better. Why? Because of BETTER COACHING. Don't underestimate the value of having Dom Capers coaching our secondary.

If Mangini gets fired, he knows better than to come crawling back here to BB. NO WAY IN HELL would BB have anything to do with that backstabbing piece of #####.

I don't believe in being a homer. It works for some people, but it takes away my enjoyment. I believe in cheering for my team while trying to be as honest and objective as possible.

As for the Jets, they are probably the team I despise the most.

It's not about homerism for me. Their fans are alright. I just don't like their GM or THE ManRat. Not enough bad things can happen to those two to satisfy me. I respected Herm Edwards. I have ZERO respect for Mangini or Tannenebaum.

Farve and Faneca are the two additions that make the Jets a better team, but good enough to beat the Patriots? Not a chance.

Not to mention that their coach is a complete idiot - If they do not have a good year this year with a HOF'er at the helm, it's curtains for that little turd.

I agree - My dislike for the Jets goes in this order:

1. Mangini
2. Tannebaum
3. Fans
4. Team

I'm not worried about the Jets in Week 2, for the following reasons:

1) Warm weather = domination for our passing game (Super Bowl loss excluded )

2) Two new starters on their OL. OL takes time to gel and work together as a unit, it may take a few weeks for them to become solid together. Favre is a good improviser(or?) but he's not exactly fleet of foot at age 39.

3) Favre has had NO camp thus far and will be learning a new system with new WRs. Remember San Diego last year? All the same players, but with a new system it took them four weeks or so to become the playoff team they were.

Now, week 11 is a totally different story, not only because he will have become more comfortable with the offense/his team, but it's a primetime game where he always steps up, and the Jets tend to play us better in their second game under Mangini (win in 2006, closer game with the help of the weather in 2007). If they're going to beat us this year, it's going to be week 11.
