Squish the Fish

this team is not blowing out anybody. the fins are as pissed after dropping 3 straight and they have a decent defense. will be a grind like all games.

Yeah, winning and getting past MIA is one thing--but blowout? I'm hoping that you're wrong, but I'm not seeing anything close to any blowout either.

The defense looks to be a lot different the past 2 games with both Wilfork and Mayo out, having given up a 29 pt per game average and over 150 yds on the ground. That's night and day different from the first month of the season.

We all know the struggles with both sides of the ball. I will be extremely satisfied with a terrific 14-13 win, should it come down to it. We need this game, and to regain a hold on this division. We honestly have no idea what kind of team this is yet, and that's unfortunate; but it's due to the injuries. Otherwise, we'd all be likely feeling pretty confident.

I think many fans have been spoiled since the 2007 season and forget how many close scoring games there was during the SuperBowl seasons.

I am down here in the florida keyes for the weekend. More pats fans then mia fans down here

If talib plays. It will be a huge boost to the D

Yes, that is a good point. In terms of the 2001-2004 SB seasons, the 7.5 of 9 postseason games brought about an offensive scoring average of 18 pts a game, while the defense gave up an average of 14 pts a game.

That is taking out the 2004 AFCCG vs PIT and the second half scoring spree vs the CAR SB as the 2 outliers, but the 7.5/9 postseason games were won by a different method.

If we can get anywhere near that kind of defensive performance, we may get used to seeing more 17-14 or 20-17 games this season. As long as we end up winning, I don't think anyone will care one bit.

Aside from maybe a game or two this year though, I don't foresee many blowouts where we can sit back, smoke a cigar, and enjoy watching the stat lines. You can't base future predictions on past performance, and this year's 2013 team is much different in many ways than what we've been used to in the past.

Enjoy your weekend in the keys. I lived in Ft.Myers for a couple of years and didn't take advantage of the 5 hr boat ride that happened every single day. I will forever be pissed that I've yet to experience the keys.

As far as Talib playing, I'm not personally seeing it as too optimistic of a situation at the moment from the first 2 days of practice--but anything can happen between now and Sunday. My guess is that it will be a gametime decision, if he's not crossed off on Saturday night.

So, what's the buzz down in Miami about this game? Are the Dolphins and their fans confident? Worried? This is a very big game for both teams.

Gotta subtract the 7 from Brady pick six tho it's actually 25. They also scored a pick six themselves which imo should subtract another 7. They also gave up 3 in OT due to the questionable call. Although jets ran for a lot of yards they did it very inefficently. And the saints are the saints, holding them to 27 wasn't bad(should have been 24 if offense didn't leave saints in field goal range). Defense has actually been much better than I thought they would minus Mayo and Wilfork. I think these guys can still be a top d going forward assuming Talib is back soon.

At this stage there is no more excuse, Brady needs to get it together or else maybe its time for Mallett to step in.

Yes, let us "Squish the Fish" as we did in 1985, our first win at the Orange Bowl, a resounding win that put us in the Super Bowl. I still remember the "squish the fish" tee shirts that so many wore on Boylston Street that week.

Great clip. Noticed 23 dishing out some blocks and mixing it up. Had to look it up. Rod McSwain, one of my faves. By that i mean, working his ass of for seven years mostly on teams to finally get a season of starts at DB. Troy Brown was another special teamer/spot starter. Other than Arrington and some OLinemen, don't see that as much these days.

That's a game that I'll never remember. I was born in 1986. :bricks:

Being about 10 yrs older than you, I was "stuck" following football from about 5-6 yrs old on since my father was an avid sportsbettor. No cartoons for this guy on the weekends

Even though I was only about 10 or so, I remember the underdog Patriots being the first team at the time to win 3 consecutive games on the road to get to the SB as a wildcard team. It was a huge deal at the time. Unfortunately, they ran into the '85 Bears team who was practically unstoppable, so it was almost a known that whoever represented the AFC was a goner.

just got home from the keys..every 1 dolphin fan there=5-7 pats fans...crazy how many transplants live there on the islands from up here

Met 3 workers down there. 1 from upton, mansfield and the others was NH i think. Was wearing my pats hat and got flagged down alot....they all said the same thing...squish the ******* fish

Wow, what have you been smoking? Must be pretty strong. Thanks for making my night!

Yeah...the thought of Ryan Mallett out there with these 3 newcomers (Thompkins, Dobson, Collie) doesn't exactly make me excited. I think some are undervaluing Brady's on the field, Pete Rose style player/coaching. The miscommunications with Mallett and the new receivers would be catastrophic.
