Last year at this time Jerod Mayo gave this snippet a few days before the draft

Q: You were being looked at more as a second to third round pick up until your combine performance. Since then you have been rising up the draft boards as quickly as anyone. Do you think it’s because your times at the Combine or do you think scouts are starting to watch more film on you?

Jerod Mayo: I had a very nice conversation with the Patriots Head Coach, Bill Belichick and he told me, the more film he watched of me, the more he liked me. It is just a matter of time, once teams start watching more film of me the more they are going to like me.
