SMY: Moss, Burgess, Guyton, and Thomas sent home Wed after late for 8am meeting

How many Championships did he win in Chicago? Keep fishing.

Belichick is playing with fire here. Moss is the last guy in the world you wanna tick off. He's one of those guys like Dennis Rodman or Artest, that are usually harmless and introverted, but if you trigger them or stimulate them in the slightest of fashions, it can spiral out of control and ultimately rip a franchise apart. I don't know what's truly going on here, but I would let Moss do whatever he wants...come late once in a while, skip practices, have his own recliner, etc. We'd be a 6-10 without Moss this year.

that's kind of how I feel

Brady speaks about Moss like he is another leader for this team so I have a hard time buying that sending him home for being a few minutes late can do anything good for the team.

To send Moss home like that, it might hurt Moss more than other players, since he's the captain, playmaker, and really the one carrying the team this year not to mention he is one sensitive introverted person That's why I think it's playing with fire here. Let Moss do his thing and just let him float, he's lasted 12? years in the league at an elite level, he must be doing something right. Sending players home like that are for busts and rookies.

A guy with stones would have sacked up and gotten past it. That's why he isn't here anymore.

On the Internet it takes no courage to question how a person deals with the loss of a loved one.

The event in question took place in 2004. The Pats extended Seymour in 2006. If the Patriots thought that Seymour had no stones, why did they extend Seymour in 2006??? Are you really contending that the Patriots took close to five years to get rid of a player that they were not happy with in 2004??

Exactly

Sure a great player can have a terrible attitude (TO) but Moss is doing his thing this season and it's possible that for most of the season he hasn't been 100%

I agree they should just let him hang out. If it was a habit or he was doing something to really raise eyebrows then Belichick should talk with him behind closed doors.

I think Moss is going to feel like he let the team down for being late. I've never heard him question BB or Tom Brady. They are one of the biggest reasons that he came here. Moss is a smart guy and a smart football player. He'll be unfazed, if not even more motivated by the way the media is portraying him after this.

Who cares how Moss feels?

It's time Belichick gets his hold back on this team.Hopefully he cleans house in the off-season. We don't need Moss to win anything. Stud WR's are fun to watch but hardly a necessity for any championship team. That $$ would be better spent on the other side of the ball imo.

If Moss wants to fall in line...cool. If not... see ya!

I just don't buy into that

He is a tremendous player and I would hate to see him go. I promise that if Moss left you would see a tremendous drop in Welkers performance. Not because of his lack of effort but because nobody would be left to demand the coverage and attention Moss gets.

If Moss goes, Welker is now the big receiving threat and teams will focus there strongest defenders on him

Moss is the second best WR of all time. He's leaps ahead of TO. When Owens left San Fran, Philly, and Dallas, those teams could never really recover. Philly and Dallas were Super Bowl contenders largely because of TO. If Moss leaves this team, we might be the 3rd best team in the division.

Disagreed

Moss hasn't exactly had an elite QB throwing to him for most of his career.

If Moss grew up with a Brady or Manning type QB and had 5-6 years playing with someone at their level he would be head and shoulders above any WR to ever play football.

I would agree that this team has a lot of defensive needs that need to be addressed, but I seem to remember an Indy team that won it all woth a couple of stud receivers a couple of years ago.

Bruschi and Harrison did not retire of their own accord. Harrison spoke about it. I can't remember the exact quote, but he said something about getting put out to pasture before he wanted to, but had to accept it.

I remember him saying he was going to retire at the end of his contract.

im not saying you "can't", im just saying that it isn't a necessity. It's a luxury.

If these guys were sent home for being late today, its bordering on the silly side. With the snow and traffic, sometimes its unavoidable to be a bit late.
thats complete BS. all you have to do is leave earlier than you normally do. using the bad weather as an excuse to be late is unprofessional to say the least.

Moss has a huge impact on games so unless you replace him with someone/several people that can add up to that impact, it's not a luxury. He is the 2nd most important player on this team. The offense takes a BIG step back without him (or any great #1 receiver, which don't come cheap). You would have to significantly upgrade the defense (to the point where they allow significantly fewer points, if you cut down your offense by 3+ points a game, you better improve your defense by that amount) or running game/O-line.

I mean, hell, we saw what happened to this offense when we let Branch go (and mind you, we actually had a good running game then) and people think Moss would have even less an impact if he were to leave? Take your head out of the sand.

I would love to see Thomas just get cut from the team ... someone needs to be cut and I nominate him.

I vote for the ultimate sanction - death by electrocution for all of the dastardly scumbags...let's put up another poll...

Traffic in bad weather is not something you can measure with 100% accuracy. I once left 40 minutes than usual and was still 2 hours late because 3 accidents closed 3 different roads.

Despite the nonsense some people here are trying to put forth, weather and traffic do make even the most driven people late for appointments of various kinds.

4 out of 50. No excuse.

We should let Moss have his way and sign TO at the other receiver position. Besides, BB has always let the players have their way. It's the Patriot way
