Slowing Down the Giants DE's

Nice spin. I'm not buying any of it. Eli is light years ahead of 2007. Cruz and nicks are infinitely better than burress and smith and the defense is playing great.

A few of these guys must be the "real fans," since the game is already in the bag.

Talk about chugging the kool-aid...a few of these radicals must be beer bonging it.

We all think the Pats have the capacity to win, but I don't know more than a couple on here that thinks "it's going to be an easy game."

the ends dont worry me

Light has played "light's out" (hehe) all year long, he will be able to handle his guy 1 on 1 if he did it against Suggs

Solder may have 1-3 plays where he whiffs, but Brady will see it, though i dont think it will happen alot, Solder is good

seeing how the gaurds and center played yesterday against the best DT in the game.....i am not too worried about the inside rush either

brady will have his time, lets hope he is playing more like the Denver game than the ravens game

he was playing too safe in the ravens game, i do not see that against the giants

Your frustrate them with quick throws from a spread offense. I actually think this team is better suited to handle them then the 2007 group. I don't picture Brady sitting back there for 8 seconds waiting for Moss to get open 45 yards down the field again.

As far as all the talk of the Washington game, go back and watch those highlights if you want a good laugh. Nicks dropped two touchdowns, a ball hit off a Redskins head and was then intercepted, a holding at the 1 yard line after a td was reversed. They could not have possibly played worse.

In that offense Brady needed more time for the plays to develop, with this offense he can throw quick passes to the TE's or welker. If you remember in SB 42 we scored in the 4th quarter by mainly using quick throws to Welker to move the ball down field then a TD by Moss on a short pass play.

People are too locked into the 2007 Super Bowl game. The more relevant game was the one played in Nov. The Giants got to Brady twice, but he threw for 340 yards. The OL has improved as the season has progressed. Another fun stat from that game was the 4 turnovers which can't happen again, no matter how they were caused. Despite what happened yesterday turnovers still matter.

While I agree that people are too fixated on the 2007 SB, your point of the week 9 game is irrelevant too if you look at the numbers from game 16 of the 2007 season where Brady threw for 356 yards and 2 TDs. Those stats were irrelevant to the SB as well. I think both teams are better now than they were in week 9. The Pats D is playing better and the NYG offense has added Hakeem Nicks. I honestly don't know how to even guess how this game will play out. My stomach is in knots.

Homer aside, but is it only me that thinks Willie McGinest is a great sports spokesman and could do very well in the booth?

Ummm, the Packers turned the ball over 4 times yet still put up 388 yards of offense, so they were doing something right.

In the Packers/Giants game, the Packers had the ball longer (30:25-29:35), had more first downs (25-19), and outrushed them 147-95. Here's what killed the Packers:

- Turnovers (they had 4 of them)
- Dropped passes (they had 8 of them)

The turnovers you could say were part of what the Giants did to GB. But the drops? They were just mistakes made by a team that normally doesn't make those.

Tell that to this years Green Bay Packers and us in Super Bowl 42. Brady standing back in shotgun all game is NOT the answer to the Giants defense.
Rodgers and his receivers blew a lot of plays all on their own in that game. Not saying the Giants D is overrated, or that they got lucky, but they're not on the same level as the 2007 unit.

I suppose you could say the same thing about the Patriots offense, though I think they're better able to make quick plays than 2007. The OL without a doubt is better than it was in 2007, at least on the right side.

This Giants team is the easiest Super Bowl opponent we have had to date. They are erratic and very volatile. As quickly as they have been dominating they can also snap back to the way they played against Washington twice and Seattle. For all the hype going into this game it could end up being one of the most lopsided Super Bowls ever.

lmao, doubt that. Maybe lopsided for them than us

Protect Brady and keep them honest by running the ball often enough, and I think the Pats can win the game. With the way the defense has been playing, I think they'll hold up just enough to make the game interesting.

Light has been playing great. Suggs was having his best year yet before Light whooped his @$$ Sunday.

Agreed

While I agree Ngata is the best DT in the league the inside rushers of the Giants will be more quickness and less power. So while it's nice to see the interior OL playing well this is a different type of challenge they are facing.

Last night was one of his best game in quite some time.

I think I would like to see him back for one more year. At the very least, he will be the best backup LT.

-Quick passes
-Long drives
-Hurry up offense

Containing the Giants DE's should be priority number one. If the OL has a stellar performance,NE will win the game.

i thought he was dropping off, until this season came along

unless we are going to draft an LT, do you trust solder moving to the left after playing RT in the NFL? what if vollmer is questionable for next year?

i would agree with you, i want Light here for at LEAST 1 more year....1-3 yr deal would prob be fine with me
