I'd say yes.. many didn't get to see him play because Washington was hardly on national games. He's had production in the league. I agree they aren't trading him.. I still feel like there's another move Vrabel's going to make on offense. However if he didn't we have plenty to work with on offense IMO..
He reminds me of cookie... All yards no points until this past season... If he's top ten, he's the double digit portion of the list...

We've seen this 1000 times before... Guy who is best option on a team rattling the cage for a new deal... 99.9% of the time they get paid...

Washington is in the middle of stadium talks right now ..they aren't going to do anything to hurt the now positive aura around the team after slogging by in the Dan Snyder era... Washington is not going to trade him so the point is moot

Sensible. And I believe most of us feel like he's not going anywhere anyways he can do for young Daniels what Troy Brown was able to do for young Brady. All young QBs need that. I wonder if Washington will be a NFC powerhouse or will the high come down to earth from last seasons Cinderella story.. anyhow... I like the group we have already. Coaching is what will make all the difference for us particularly at wr.

How the hell is Cooks still just 31 years old lol. I wanted to make a joke about a 30 year old Cooks would be a nice fit on this team. I would have even considered him this off-season too.

PS: He turns 32 in September.

I don't want to pay high tax (R1 pick) for the pleasure of overpaying for a guy who will be 30 at the start of the season.

But...

This guy is a very good player, with a great track record and proven ability to stay on the field. It'd be about what assets I have to give up to get him if I was GM. No R1, but other than that, yes I want this guy.

Doesn't matter. Washington isn't going to deal this guy. Why would they?

Why is he disgruntled?

don't think they will trade him...
don't think this team would be willing to pay their asking price if they would move him...
but sure, a call wouldn't hurt...

Edit... its about money...

Is he worth 30 million a year? oof...
Kinda, yeah.
I'd pick up the phone at the very least. McLaurin is better than Diggs ever was.

Wow, didn't realize he was 30 already. He came into the NFL kind of late compared to most rookies.

A lot of people here think this team is good because they signed a ton of mostly average starters to the least talented team in the NFL. Personally, I think that means they're better but still terribly untalented compared to the rest of the league wide. So I don't think we're in a give up a high pick to then extend a 30 year old on a massive deal type of position. But for those of you who believe we're some sleeping giant ready to push BUF for the division crown and win some playoff games, they should consider it and probably do it.

I don't understand this. Am I just being dense? The Covid fog?

that means he'd be tenth on the list...

as in
1 AJ Brown
2 Justin Jefferson
3 CeeDee Lamb
4 J'Marr Chase
5 Puka Nacua
6 Amon-Rah St. Brown
7 Tyreek Hill
8 Mike Evans
9 Garrett Wilson
10 Terry McLaurin / Nico Collins / Malik Nabers ...

not a knock on the guy... hes competitive with some real talent... thats just how i see it... ymmv

I dunno about that Tommy... four or five seasons with 100+ receptions... his first three years in Buffalo put Diggs into a whole other category of good as well... I don't think McLaurin has matched that yet...

you can easily argue he could have matched Diggs numbers with Allen as his QB... I wouldn't scoff at that suggestion, he is a talented guy no doubt...

at this point though, McLaurin should be considered an upgrade over Diggs, until Diggs can prove otherwise on the field...

I gladly would have brought him back... he'd do better here than he has in dallas in the shadow of ceedee lamb and co

The redskins are not going to trade him... they have him for a few more years (last year of deal, + a tag or two)... But if they were willing to move him you all need a add a 1st round pick to these potential trade packages to approach the actual trade value of a guy like McLaurin...
Indeed. And, given that he's already 30, for that reason alone I would not give up a 1st Round Pick for him. If he were no older than 25/26 this season, than sure. We want a WR/WR's that are young enough to be around for Maye for the next few years or longer. Now, if it's a 3rd Round Pick in 2026 and a 4th in 2027, then sure (although it will cost a few bucks, but it'll only be for no more than 3 years). But no way a 1st Rounder Pape.

If you are washington are you giving up your best wr, a guy you legit control for three more seasons, for anything less?

I doubt Washington would want to trade him. Really good WRs hitting their prime don’t grow on trees. They got the QB, the team is up and coming, he’s not a guy you try to trade. Players like McClaurin get paid, cap keeps rising and really good players make really good money.
Well they haven't signed him yet either. This guy has been consistently catching passes from Washington's QB du jour for quite some time and wants to be paid - hence his holdout and contract dispute and the notion of him being traded.

He's a big reason why Daniels looks so good and I wouldn't mind him being a reason that Maye looks even better.

Since he'd be demanding a big payday, it might not take a lot in trade to get him.

The Patriots REALLY tried to upgrade WR and LT through free agency this off season and pretty much everyone turned them down, with an injured Diggs being the highlight

That leaves cuts, castaways and contract disputes as the fertile ground to bring in some depth - or in this case, some Pro-Bowl caliber WR talent.

Count me in the "Yes" category on signing him, although I expect many think we are already all set at WR

Scary is probably looking for 35 per, he's 30 yrs old, so probably 2-3 years of stud.
Do you guys really want this?
BTW, I drafted him in Fantasy a few years ago, and he was pathetic... 1/2 the weeks, I had to make a decision to even PLAY him, even though he was a stud.

I think with Williams chucking it to him he'll be a stud, McDaniels? Not so sure.
I think he's a stud, but it doesn't matter what I think.
Is he running the correct routes?

The reason I'm asking about running the correct routes, is his consistency.
If he's SUCH a stud, why is he clamped? Don't they scheme to make sure he is alone?
Why is he a no- show so often?
He can be a fkn BEAST, but look over his last 4 years.
Scary is ******** IMO.
I'm good with not offering a Monster Contract for him

I love McLaurin as a player, but if he is demanding more than 28 per I would be out on him, and even that is too high imo. He’s a very good player, but he’s not a first team all pro WR, and I think you reserve the top end paydays for those players. The Patriots have done a lot of really good work on the roster this year, they shouldn’t get greedy and overpay to try and get it all done at once. They are still in great shape for another strong free agency next offseason, and that and another strong draft should take them to the next level where they should be winning playoff games.

This all makes sense but I'd also say the inverse is true too. They shouldn't avoid acquiring a good player just because it seems unrealistic to get so much done in one off-season.

Ultimately I agree with the sentiment others have said that Washington isn't going to move him but if they do and we can make the trade compensation and contract work in our favor then you pull the trigger. Problem is the contract and compensation are likely to be prohibitive to the trade too.

I seriously doubt that they would. Or, at the very least, they would be unwise to do so.
