I'm just echoing the poll question I just saw on WEEI but it bears discussion.
What I hear is that he's 50/50 for the game.

JMO but I would go with the mantra 'better safe than sorry'. Gronk is too important to this team to rush back early and have him hurt himself again. I believe they should rest the gronk for the tampa game. With the addition of the bye week that's plenty of time to recover. He can practice if he's ready, but save him for a more important game than the bucs.

If Gronk, Belichick and the medical staff say he's good to go, he should play. If not save him for another week.

We can close the thread now. If the guy is fully healthy and feeling great, he should 100% play. If not, he shouldn't. IMO, the fact that he was limited in practice should be pretty telling with respect to what his playing status is going to be this week.

Gronk and Amendola are both practicing again today. No word yet if Gronk is limited (though I'm sure he will be).

50-50 is not 100% ready. Also, the mindset might be that they feel they can beat Tampa Bay without Gronk. The schedule after Sunday is brutal. Let him go 100% in practice, and if he can get past that, he'll be ready. Also, I believe STUDfeld will be playing this weekend.

the Bucs are a pretty dirty, awful team.

We don't need gronk to beat them, and they are spiteful enough to try and hurt him just because it would hurt us long term

I don't pretend to know. Whatever the medical staff decides is fine with me. My opinion doesn't count in this matter.

So why take a part in a messege borad at all?

Because I can have opinions about player performance in games which I can observe on a weekly basis. I think that's much different than having opinions about medical information of which I have no knowledge, observational or otherwise.

Hmmm. Where's the button for, "Yes, but only if we can make it so the other team doesn't tackle him or hurt him in any way."

I agree that one should not *rush* a Gronkowski back. However, it is unknown as to whether playing this week would be *rushing* him or not.

To wit, perhaps he's already plenty healed and rested and further "rest" at this point would accomplish nothing. Other than of course making it impossible he gets hurt this week.

So I am, as of now, undecided as to how to vote in your poll.

Maybe we can send him out there in bubble wrap ...

Seriously ... I say let him start in week 4 or 5.

None of us knows enough about Gronk's health situation to know. We can talk philosophically about at what point it's worth bringing him back (for me, that's when he has no elevated risk of reaggravating his prior injuries and is in something resembling game shape), but since we just don't know where he is on that timeline, it's impossible to give a reasonable answer to "should he play on Sunday?"

Hopefully this time they'll tell him to not dive and land directly his broken forearm.

Gronk has officially been upgraded to questionable...

Christopher Price @cpriceNFL
Amendola is doubtful, Gronk is questionable for this weekend.

Put him on PUP until week 7 ...... oh,wait :bricks:

People act as if playing him against Tampa would be rushing him back as if in 7 days he would be exponentially healthier. If he's able to play he should be on the field.
