First this is a great thread, second I see the misconduct as more of a generational thing. A lot of the conduct should be addressed in college, look at how many things were covered up for Hernandez. The limits are tested and they begin to believe they can get away with anything because they play football. Then they get to the NFL and they're exposed to millions of dollars and access to things they lack the maturity to handle.
How you address in college I don't know but I think in a lot of cases it's to late by the time these players are in the NFL. 16-24 are the final years of development for the male brain.
