It would take a lot for me to be okay with Bill coming back next season. 1. He would have to be willing to start playing the younger guys at the skill positions on offense. 2. He’d have to be willing to go for broke on getting a qb through the draft and free agency and do whatever he can to repair the offensive line.

Unless the team completely turns it around of course. Captures lightning in a bottle and figures it all out. I dont see that happening. At best they’d become the team we saw the first few wks. Always in it, with a chance to upset. It just makes too much sense to let a new coach & gm combo come in and capitalize off of the high draft picks and massive amount of free agency cash. There’s no better time to hit the reset button and create positive buzz around the organization.

Andy Reid is not young and a health scare/son murdering someone away from retirement.
If Reid averages 12 wins a season the next 5 years he will be within 2 games of the record. That is 12 wins a year in a 17 game season and not even including playoff wins. If they win another Super Bowl or two within the next 5 years that record is Reid's easily.

I want a clean break from any Bill disciples. Look at Ben Johnson in Detroit, Eric Beinemy, or maybe even Lincoln Riley who can potentially be a package deal with Caleb Williams.
Dunno. I'd like to keep some continuity on the defensive side. I think the scouting side through the coaches have done a really great job putting that defense together and it'd be a shame to get someone to come in and dismantle it because it doesn't fit their scheme.

The record is kind of lame IMO. He has 6 Super Bowls and the playoff win record.

Halas won 318 regular season games with 10-14 game seasons. He’s the true king of consistent, long term winning, and even if Bill passes him there’s no way you can argue Bill’s record is more impressive given the schedules.

Also recall all the Pats “fans” saying in 2020 they don’t give a F about Brady’s career touchdown record.
I'm still shocked that there are Pats fans who think that Bill has earned the right to go out on his own terms but Brady didn't.

If not for Vince Lombardi's early death he may have blown all HC's out of the water.

The longer Bill continues coaching the lower his winning % will go.

Belichick lost confidants in Ernie and Dante who had the gravitas to be doubting thomases to the hoodie. Losing them, he had no check on his decisions, which certainly put offense on the back burner. Defense and special teams to rule the day.

But the rules favor offense and the stringent regulations on practices in order to promote player safety makes the experienced head coach unable to do his job as effectively as once before.

I saw this article a couple of years ago and it went into great detail on Bill's defensive system. Even seeing it explained was complicated.

No.
He had his shot and missed.
He doesn’t know how to draft WR and QBs. He has had misses in terms of o-line. He has been poor in free agency.
With the exception of Gonzalez who was a luxury pick he did not address the huge holes this team had on offense. You can have the best defense in the world but if you can’t score more than 3 points then you as a coach and GM have failed. He has been trying to rebuild this team for 5 years now. He has missed over and over again.

Also the reason Brady left. You can’t keep surrounding an aging Brady with value trash year after year.

BB thought he was a genius but truly, without Brady he hasn’t done anything.
Spot on!

According to Callahan in the Herald today, BB actively doesn't use modern analytics so that could explain his complete whiffs on the offensive side of the ball.

I think as long as they keep a man coverage scheme I wouldn't really mind losing anyone else on that side of the ball. I just want to get past the Bill dynasty era completely next year. I love what David Andrews (he is probably my favorite player on the team) and Matt Slater have done for the team but it seems like that leadership isn't helping much. It can't be easy to have a coaching staff and a few players lingering from an era you get to hear about from all angles and now you're part of a group that isn't living up to that. A refresh is needed with everyone all in the same boat together.

Honestly yeah. He might not have won until 2019. But Reid was winning a lot in the regular season for years. He 17 double digit win seasons. Bill has 20. Reid is going to have the advantage of Mahomes for at least another 10 years if he wants to coach that long. Bill now has to find his next guy and might need to go to another team to do it. Reid also has less losing seasons than Bill.

The all time coaching discussion could get very interesting depending on how long Reid hangs around
Ironically, Reid has been mocked here, just like Ariens in TB was until his team won the SB with you-know-who.

Ariens is still a joke. He was along for the ride that season.

This won’t be a desirable head coach job to follow Bill and to have heavy expectations from day 1 Kraft will have to sell anyone on this team.

However a top 5 pick and a ton of cap space could seduce.
I've seen a team with a 25-29 record and one historic playoff loss in the last 4 years.

The real tough act to follow was Brady's. Anyone who followed him would look inept. Luckily, Cant Newton fit that description perfectly.

Reid has taken a good QB in McNabb to the Super Bowl patch together some playoff Eagles seasons with various QBs in and out like Jeff Garcia, and AJ Feely. He was able to rehab Michael Vick's career for a couple years. Reid then rehabbed Alex Smith's career almost instantly in KC and we've seen what he can do with a Hall of Famer.

I think Reid gets mocked because his time management sucks (it does). But he's a helluva good offensive-minded coach. Clearly not winning any father-of-the-year awards though.

It could also explain his consistently poor risk/reward decisions on 4th down, which often make zero sense and are inconsistent. This includes the Brady era.
