The Patriots announced 21 cuts. The team also announced that defensive lineman Richard Seymour is on the reserve/PUP list, meaning he will be out for at least the first six weeks of the season. Tight end David Thomas has been activated off the PUP list.

That might be a little overboard considering it hasn't started yet. It seems the biggest news for the team today is that we'll be without two of our most experienced and best players for at least the first four games, all of which are important (division/conference leaders).

Ugh... the D looks like it has the potential to be shaky through the first 6 games. Harrison out for 4, Seymour out for 6, Wilson already leaking oil.....I'm anxious to see how Brown does. Could be a stud.

Seeing how dominant the DL was all camp without him (hell without him and Warren they were still dominant) I tend to think they are being overly conservative.

With Warren Wilfork and Green to start, they certainly didn't look like they will miss him. The real risk for this team right now is Wilfork. If he's healthy, the entire line plays great.

Why mess with the franchise at this point by rushing it?
