I never suggested the moves the pats made wouldn't pan out. Look at my posts. What I suggested was that the pats off season acquisitions wouldn't be enough. We in SD know Randy. We know he has skills. It's like I said in a previous post. All things considered, he won't be enough. No WR EVER is. By the same token no LB ever is. By the same token no ONE player ever is.

Contrary to what some NE fans may believe, TB alone is not enough. Regardless of his ability to "will" the team to victory.

In terms of offense I know QB is the most important position on the field. But it's not enough. No way NE wins that 1st SB if you didn't have hell-a-team pulling around you. Questionable referee ruling notwithstanding. You won that game against the Raiders because your OL protected well enough and Brady, Branch, and Dillon put you in a place for a potential win. Fantasic. That's great.

My point here is that it does take a team. We SD fans do know that. We SD fans understand that we've got weapons on both sides of the line. We SD fans understand that's not enough. We SD fans understand it IS about the team. Always.

I mean isn't it obvious? Do you not understand that we aspire to be where NE has been? Do you not understand that SD fans understand that we're more than likely gonna have to go THROUGH NE to get there?

If we get a ring without going through NE? That's your bad. There's always next year...

So let me get this straight: Beating you on the field isn't enough, and essentially, no one player is enough, and by the way, no six or eight players improvement, at least 3 of them hefty upgrades, will be enough. It's about the "team", but the most remarked on team ethic in the league, NE's, won't "be enough," and if it's about coaching, the guaranteed HOF coach at NE isn't enough. No, it's all about the team, something NE doesn't understand "enough"?

When measured against the self-perpetuating delusion of Chargers' fans, at least.

Hey, lots of "ifs" and "hopes." Yeah, you want to be where we've been. Good luck.

Since no one receiver is ever enough, it's a good thing you guys never bothered getting one.

Since no one QB isn't enough, it's a good thing you don't have to bother with Tom Brady there, since Philip Rivers is just as significant.

You got some talent there, fella, but, well, to coin a phrase, not enough. And best of luck with Norv.

After this I am done with this remedial banter, but you must look in a mirror everyday and say to yourself, "d%#*!@t BoltFan, you're a good person and people like you!" If you really believe what you say, I'm guessing you're in a padded room with 3 square meals and a nice jacket that zips up the back!

I think the Pats are dancing on your logo again, clown. Enjoy another disappointing season for you and the rest of the worst fans in the NFL in SD.

Heh.... just thought of this one... The new, Tony-award winning musical that's sweeping -- pun intended -- San Diego:

RiversDance!

(Followed by "Stomp" - a double-feature.)

Adalius Thomas and Vince Wilfork.
So you're saying Thomas is better than Merriman? You have ZERO facts to support that. Gotta skip that argument for now. If you start referencing stats and\or game situations I may entertain your argument. For now I'll just say I disagree.

W/regard to Wilfork? Again, I see no evidence of that. When have you stopped us with LT in the backfield? All we have to go on is recent events. It appears clear to me that Wilfork isn't a difference maker in that regard. Now, w/regard to Jamal? When was the last time you had a 100 yard rusher against us?

Inquiring minds want to know?

Oh get over yourself and quit being in denial... As Tedy Bruischi once said, " Ya'll ain't got it." Deal with it...

Maybe you're right? We'll see...
charger fans are way to hyped up for week two.last time i checked its just one game in sixteen.ive got bad news for you bolt fans .the only way to avenge a playoff defeat is to end our season like the pats ended yours .you cant do that in week two .sorry

But for the record? We'll whoop you in week 2 too. Write it down. Hell, consider it your super bowl.

Are these morons going to be here from now to September? Can we sequester them somewhere until the actual game. They can crow all they want if they win, but this is getting worse than the Dolphin fans of a couple years ago. What is with all the bragging talk six months before the game?

Could Williams shut down LT? If your judging Wilforks performance based on the fact that he couldn't prevent Tomlinson from running up the middle then that's ludicrous. Williams is a great NT, but I'd take Wilfork anyday over him! Smart, hardworking, and just coming into his own at the prime of his career, considering the shelf life of most lineman in the NFL. IMO, I'm saying WIlfork goes to the Pro Bowl before Williams this year!

Our defense is going to manhandle that little punk -LT
He's gonna get hurt pretty bad-but that will help shut his mouth and the SD big-head beaner fans

Rivers will be so confused his head will be spinning and he'll be vomiting.

Yeah, come to think of it there's a "Visitors Locker Room" forum on here for this sort of thing. Of course it is entertaining, even if we are arguing about an event 5 months away. This is what happens when you have 5 months to kill.

I have not been this stoked for a season since the days of the 21-in-a-row juggernaut, between Lombardis #2 and 3.... surely Bolts fans can relate to something similar... oh that's right. Bolts fans. I forgot.

But you know what? I'm just plain tired of the whole "we're so classy, you were our role models, and we're so disappointed you danced on Ol' Sparky, waaaaaah" routine. The Chargers act like we're their daddy, which is right on the money, but also like they caught us nailing a 20 dollar hooker in the alley under their bedroom window, where they keep their posters of Princess Leia and Rainbow Brite. Well, we didn't. We just paid back your overrated, histrionic, faux-epileptic roid wonder for his on-field enthusiam. You really want to learn from daddy? Learn this - you celebrate after you win. You remember winning, right? That thing the Chargers do in the regular season? Well, it feels really good in the playoffs. You'll have to trust us on that one. So take your electrical-current-named hindquarters over to the visitors locker room where someone gives a crap, and you can discuss with the Donks fans whether they're why you had to stop interpreting your name as meaning a big ol' horse, and the copyright implications if Detriot changes their name to the Li-ions.

The only Charger you'll ever see at a Super bowl is a Dodge Charger, and that's if the NFL gets cheap about awarding cars to MVPs.

Fondly,

You're right, there is no way to gauge who is better since all of Merriman's stats were based on being a steroid-filled cheater. All I know is when Steroidman was caught and had to get clean, he was a complete NO-SHOW for the playoff game vs. the Patriots. There's some evidence for you.

Man, these Bolts fans seem way too giddy about us getting Moss and Stallworth, when I believe it was last year where they were letting Gaffney and Caldwell get open all over the field on them.

Well you can't blame them... they weren't familiar with that Reche Caldwell feller...

Oh, that's right.:enranged:

Heh.

Anybody ping boltsboy yet on claiming that Dillon was a key to victory over the Raiders in 01?

I'd say I'm done with this, but I'm bored. No promises.

Not yet I don't believe. I'm sure he "meant" to say A Smith or Faulk though right Bolts fan? Seeing how he knows what is or isn't enough to win a championship in every facet of the game.

silly thread..day of reckoning..like it means anything...

LOL too funny hearing all whinning!

Just to add to the humor; Since I was bored I decided to go to the chargers website and there's another 26 page thread discussing the "fact" that they began their dynasty last year. Included were things such as "Brady is slowing down now and just had children" and "we (the chargers) have 15 potential pro bowlers.
No doubt they have talent but 15 may be a bit much. Anyway, there are some over there with sense, realizing they need to win a playoff game first, but just more comedy for the most part.
