I never suggested the moves the pats made wouldn't pan out. Look at my posts. What I suggested was that the pats off season acquisitions wouldn't be enough. We in SD know Randy. We know he has skills. It's like I said in a previous post. All things considered, he won't be enough. No WR EVER is. By the same token no LB ever is. By the same token no ONE player ever is.
Contrary to what some NE fans may believe, TB alone is not enough. Regardless of his ability to "will" the team to victory.
In terms of offense I know QB is the most important position on the field. But it's not enough. No way NE wins that 1st SB if you didn't have hell-a-team pulling around you. Questionable referee ruling notwithstanding. You won that game against the Raiders because your OL protected well enough and Brady, Branch, and Dillon put you in a place for a potential win. Fantasic. That's great.
My point here is that it does take a team. We SD fans do know that. We SD fans understand that we've got weapons on both sides of the line. We SD fans understand that's not enough. We SD fans understand it IS about the team. Always.
I mean isn't it obvious? Do you not understand that we aspire to be where NE has been? Do you not understand that SD fans understand that we're more than likely gonna have to go THROUGH NE to get there?
If we get a ring without going through NE? That's your bad. There's always next year...
So let me get this straight: Beating you on the field isn't enough, and essentially, no one player is enough, and by the way, no six or eight players improvement, at least 3 of them hefty upgrades, will be enough. It's about the "team", but the most remarked on team ethic in the league, NE's, won't "be enough," and if it's about coaching, the guaranteed HOF coach at NE isn't enough. No, it's all about the team, something NE doesn't understand "enough"?
When measured against the self-perpetuating delusion of Chargers' fans, at least.
Hey, lots of "ifs" and "hopes." Yeah, you want to be where we've been. Good luck.
Since no one receiver is ever enough, it's a good thing you guys never bothered getting one.
Since no one QB isn't enough, it's a good thing you don't have to bother with Tom Brady there, since Philip Rivers is just as significant.
You got some talent there, fella, but, well, to coin a phrase, not enough. And best of luck with Norv.
