Semi-OT: Trader Bill's next target?

The offseason coup will be signing Tebow after he realizes no one wants him as a QB

There are very few openings for a mere above average veteran. There is room for a couple more average types though.

Still if BB believes this is the Year to "Go for It!", he could seek another good interior Defensive lineman, and/or frontline veteran WR. He has the CAP room to do so, too.

But he probably would have to trade for a WR, as the FA pickings at WR are slim, IMHO.

Uday Hussein????? or Kim Jong Un?????? Does he have a double?

Can anyone imagine being a Raiders fan??

Well, they can look themselves in a mirror and say "Hey, at least I'm not a JEST fan."

On the contrary ~ and I acknowledge that very, very few see it this way ~ I think that Mark Davis will prove to be an excellent Leader. I read the entire Sports Illustrated Article, and came away very impressed.

Will he make a few costly mistakes as he finds'is way?

Of course.

Robert Kraft did ~ why shouldn't Davis?

But you can often tell right away if a guy's got The Right Stuff.

And Mark Davis most decidedly does.

I have no idea what the real reason was, behind the firing of Zak Gilbert, but ~ having read the Article ~ I find it hard to believe that it was because of the Sport Illustrated Article, as Yahoo claims.

***

I would also add: The Raiders have one more Season "In The Barrel" to work off, before they've finished expurgating all the poisonous sludge ~ Read: Dead Cap ~ that Al left behind.

But mark me: The Raiders are approaching a New Dawn.

The New Dawn will probably be occuring Los Angeles as the Raiders return to Los Angeles.

I have heard that they are actually doing more than just discuss building a modern stadium there.

It makes no sense for two teams to share the 10th or 11th largest metropolitan area, when the number 1 metro area has not a single team.

LA already has two football teams: USC and UCLA.

That may well be, but I devoutly hope not.

1 ~ The Raiders belong in Oakland. Always have. Always will.

2 ~ The Rams belong in Los Angeles. They are still the LA Rams, to this very day, and were NO more "Los Angeles" than in 1999, with all the Turf and Points and Flash and what not.

3 ~ The Cardinals, likewise, belong in Saint Louis. TF???

4 ~ That's to say nothing of the Colts belonging in Baltimore, the original Browns ~ what an incredibly stupid Name, though ~ belonging in CleveLand, and nobody belonging in Arizona or Indianapolis, thank you very much.

*The Rams were originally in CleveLand, but were not a fit, there.

*The RedSkins should've stayed here...But I think we upgraded nicely.

The JAGs should be the team to move. Jacksonville should never have been awarded a franchise.

True Story.

Seriously, Jacksonville???

Now that I think'f it...Why doesn't Alabama have a Pro Team??

I know they're Dirt Poor and all...But they would sell out constantly.

Bah.

I guess I know fully well why.

They wouldn't.

The NFL teams in Georgia, Tennessee and Florida don't either.

Some people just don't like to watch ADULTS play football.

That is a correct statement if it is based on narrow reference lines. For example this narrow drawing does not include other counties that are part of the SF media market and are as close or nearly as close to the new Niner Stadium or the Oakland coliseum as downtown SF is. In terms of fan base potential drawn within a more standard footprint of land area, I believe the bay area is 5th or 6th. Does that make two teams economically viable? In terms of its wealth and corporate rich potential, it over performs its 5th or 6th ranking. Yet it is borderline as to whether it is a two team area.

Your point is a good one, however, on LA. That is far too big a market to be without a team or two. It would not surprise me at all if the Raiders move there. The Oakland Coliseum is very outdated in terms of being a revenue generating venue (as well as its aesthetics). And unlike the Niners the Raiders will not get $$ help from Oakland/another Bay Area city and have no where to go in the Bay Area unless they pay for the full venue themselves. The lone exception for the Raiders remaining in the Bay Area is they play in the new Niners stadium for the foreseeable future......but I still expect they will leave without Oakland pitching in $$$$ (along with the NFL's stadium fund).

You might want to reread that, Brother Darryl.

Ah, but they would.

They are FootBall Fiends in Alabama.

At the risk of being flamed to a cinder, I'd like to offer the "Boston" Patriots. It had a nice ring to it.

Your history is slightly faulty. The Cardinals started out in Chicago before the NFL formed. Then moved to St Louis and then into the 4th largest metro area, Phoenix.

The Baltimore Colts were built on the ashes of the Dallas Texans. too.

Naming the team after its HOF Coach makes sense to me. Firing that HOF coach, and then firing a certain future HOF Coach is what makes no sense.

Moving the Houston Oilers from the third largest metro area in football mad Texas, to much smaller Nashville is a move that makes no sense.

Having two NFL clubs in the 10th or 11th largest metro area, when the largest has no team, makes ABSOLUTELY no sense.

Wrong. Your reading is slightly faulty, Genius.

I never said anything about the Cardinals' History, one way or the other, now, did I?
