Re: Seahawks release Shaun Alexander

What are you talking about? He only set the all time rushing record, had his best season by 200-300 yards and had his second best rushing avg. at 4.7 yards a carry.

Yeah, he sucked his first year with us.

He was forced to play on a high ankle sprain in 2005 because every single running back was injured. That had more to do with his decline than age.

Thank you. I know some people like to rewrite history, but the demise of Corey Dillon by upstater1 was a little much.

I really think in 05 he was injured more than with the ankle sprain...he played and did his best toughed it out for the team. He showed much effort...and that was really very solid and good. No bad words for Corey...

Re: Seahawks release Shaun Alexander

HELP! I have been demoted to ball boy (0 posts) and can no longer even view images in anyone's signature line.

I vaguely recall someone complaining about post counts being reset before I went on hiatus, so I am assuming this affected more than just me.

Well, to start off my post rehabilitation, I just want to be on the record that I don't want Alexander on our team... mostly because I think he will want more money than is justifies given his age and recent injuries. Plus, we have 3 good backs already.

Re: Seahawks release Shaun Alexander

Addai and Alexander in the same backfield? With Kenton Keith getting arrested for idocy this weekend, it could possibly be the beginnings of the locker room cancer that he was up here (in the CFL).

Re: Seahawks release Shaun Alexander

do you think that Alexander will be back to NE.?

Re: Seahawks release Shaun Alexander

Felger and Tanguy just said Alexander has said he wants to come to NE...

Re: Seahawks release Shaun Alexander

Shaun Alexander > Mike Hart

Re: Seahawks release Shaun Alexander

Cant i just say no to both?

I dont want his crappy give up leisure attititude on this team.

ha no you have to pick one... and btw, my first post in this thread was directed at you.:singing:

Shaun Alexander > Xavier Omon

I would rather see the Pats invest into some younger talent who can develop and mature into something great rather than to go for someone like Shaun Alexander. Sure Shaun might be a nice quick fix for an secondary RB but in the long run its better to pass on Shaun.

Just read it. Hilarious.

I'll probably get crucified for this, but I'd rather see Corey Dillon come back.

:bricks:

I don't understand all the hate. He was solid with a good blocking offensive line. I highly doubt he'd take over for Maroney, but he provides depth and competition. If he's soft in New England, then he won't stick. But I can easily see him contributing. Take, for example, last year after Morris went down - we could have really used Alexander to take some of the load off Maroney.

we got sammy morris, maroney, faulk, and evans. why do we need another rb?

Morris hasn't proved he could last the whole season.

And if he were to again - it would be nice to have Alexander.

Because Evans is the easiest player on offense to upgrade. Shocked it hasn't been done already.

I don't think SA is the answer, but I would not be surprised to see a bigger back drafted to challenge/replace Evans.

we got sammy morris

If he comes back healthy this season, I agree. I was really disappointed when he went down last season. I'm just saying IF we were to pick one up I'd take Corey over Alexander.

For some reason I am really expecting Alexander to land here (well not "here" in China, but N.E.). Ever since I heard he was with some of the guys in South FLA I've had that feeling, even before he was cut. We'll see. Personally, I'm pretty luke warm about it.
