Since both teams seems legit and it was one of the best Superbowls ever, you've gotta think the NFL would LOVE a rematch.

The discussion might be was last year's last second loss a fluke and should the Seahawks be really trying for a three-peat, or are the Pats going to win and cement the fact that this is Pats Dynasty, act II?

I'm a long standing Seahawks fans - been supporting them since the mid 80s so seen some pretty tough seasons which makes the last couple of years so special. I'm a long distance fan as I live in the UK - when football first got shown on the TV here, most of my buddies supported the big name teams like the Cowboys, Dolphins and Raiders but I decided to support a team from a city I had never heard of! One day I would love to go to a game in Seattle, maybe next season...

I have always had a bit of a soft spot for the Pats as one of the earliest games I can remember watching was when John Smith (a Brit!) kicked a FG in the snow in that snow plough match against the Dolphins in the early 80s.

Anyway, thought I would say stop by and say a big congrats to the Pats for winning SB49 - it was a great game, the best SB I have seen. I would have loved it if we had scored a TD at the end instead of the INT but it is what it is and your guy made a great play on the ball. I didn't mind a passing play but didn't like the choice of that particular play but guess if it had ended in a TD, Carroll and Co would have been praised for calling the play.

Hope we can both make it to SB50 when we get a chance for some revenge. Think there is a pretty good chance of that happening as both rosters have a stack of talent.

Seattle played a solid game but if I'm telling the truth the pats were the better team and the score flattered the Seahawks. Which part of the UK? I'm a soccer fan besides being part of the pats nation and Liverpool is my team. Hopefully both teams make it to sb50 but again if I'm telling the truth I only really care that the pats make it lol.

Yeah, if you look at the last 20+ years, you're right. No SB loser has come back since the Bills in 93 or so.

So many things can change between now and September, but I'd have the Packers as my pick from the NFC, if you made me bet today. The Packers will be on a mission after throwing away the NFCCG. Rodgers will be 32 when the game is played and well aware that Brady had been to four SB's and won three when he was that age. He's going to have to define his legacy sooner or later; is he another very good QB or one of the greats? Next year is very big for him.

Alternate? A healthy Arizona with a great HC.

I agree that he is marked by the league but he's only missed 2 games his entire career. He would command double teams, shore up the run d and also aid in the pass rush. Id say he would be much more of an asset to the d than a liability.

In terms of talent absolutely he's an asset but Pete Carroll doesn't control his players and letting Suh off the leash could spell trouble. With a better coach like Bill I think Suh becomes even better. In the case of Seattle I think the coach will end up hurting not helping his already poor attitude.

thx --- I think you guys are looking great for the near future, but so much of success in the nfl hinges on injuries
people act like the team will be healthy all year, but it's a guarantee there will be injuries --- just a question of who and how bad

Its all about the QB. Not a big Romo fan but he did play good this past season.

I wouldn't go that far by any means -- their core players are all signed through next season. The big challenge will be 2016.

On the TD with 6 seconds left in the half Wilson pleaded with Carrol and Bevell that they had to trust him in that situation. Carrol wanted to boot the FG. Now, that was in the Super Bowl.

Wilson is on a short leash. The Seahawks offense is simple and in the end that may have been their downfall. We know the game is all about identifying tendencies and Seattle runs that same pic play down in the redzone a lot per Simms. Simms was on NFL radio and stated that Seattle for example has 5 pass plays on the goal line where as NE may have 15 pass plays because their offense is so complex.

Seattle may have to give Wilson more control of the offense and a bigger playbook and it remains to be seen if that will bear fruit.

While the trend may indeed be that the loser of the Super Bowl does not return, that does not mean that Seattle does not have the best chance to win the NFC.

It's a case of which team has the best chance of winning the conference, as opposed to one team versus the entire field of 15 other teams.

To put it another way: if Seattle is not the favorite to win the NFC, then who is? Perhaps one could make a case for Green Bay or Dallas, but if I had to choose the team most likely to win the NFC in 2015 it would be the Seahawks, because their defense is vastly superior to that of the Packers or Cowboys.

Let me suggest the Cards. They have a great D too, and a lot of talent on OFFense. ALL they needis for their first (or even second) string QB to be healthy.

Fascinating that you'd chose a Team from Seattle despite never having been there, as Seattle's Climate, despite being on the opposite side of the Planet and adjoining a different Ocean, is legendarily British.

The Super Bowl loser hasn't made it back to play in the next Super Bowl since 1993.

Intriguing that that's precisely the last Year before the Salary Cap was installed.

It took a couple Years to work its way through, but it broke up The Cartel.

God only knows how long the NFC would've owned the Super Bowl.

Funny thing is: The lack of a Cap gave the NFC no undue Advantage in the first place.

It just allowed Great Teams to retain ~ hoard? ~ their Talent.

The Problem was a matter of Match Ups. Beefalo had a tremendous D, but their Defensive Strength was against the Passing Game, and the Giants, RedSkins, and CowBoys were powerful Running Teams.

Seahawks played a great game and they have terrific talent & coaching, but they may be one of the most immature teams in the league. Believe that immaturity will cost them next year. Don't see them sustaining the success they've enjoyed for the past few years.

Having said that: Vegas only gives them about 1 Chance in 8...and they're the Favorites.

Some numbers that I and perhaps some of you will find interesting:

01 ~ Unless my Math is wrong ~ I didn't double check ~ There've been 16 instances of a Team appearing in consecutive Super Bowls. So far, their collective record in terms of returning for a 3rd consecutive Super Bowl is 2-13, the 2 being the 1973 Fish and of course the 1992 & 1993 Buffaloes.

02 ~ 4 of those 16 Teams won their 1st appearance then lost their 2nd. The first 3 all followed through the next Year ~ the 1979 CowBoys, the 1984 RedSkins, and the 1998 Packers ~ by struggling until December, finishing with impressive Winning Streaks, going 11-5 on the Season ~ yes, identical records!! ~ and then losing their first PlayOff Games, the NFC East Teams despite being enormous Home Favorites, and the Packers to TO's Last Second Miracle Catch. It ain't easy at the top, as none know better than we!!
