It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Either it's a major smokescreen to attract more trading interest from QB needy teams, or we have even more of a luxury with less roster spots open than I thought-- in the aspect of a backup QB.
Can you give me an example of a backup QB that is setting the world on fire?Well Hoyer isn't setting the world on fire.
Would it be unheard of for a team to bring in a guy like Locker to get an assessment of the competition he faced? Say Rahim Moore, Brooks Reed, Cameron Jordan or Akeem Ayers?
exactly.Or as is likely the case with all the visits, a little bit of both. Almost certainly a smokescreen at #17 and #28. Likely a smokescreen at #33. You start to the feel heat in the mid 2nd on a trade-down. You can see the fire at #60.
Played the same game with Tebow last year. Who knows what would have happened if he slid down to the mid 2nd? Will never know about Tebow. Will likely never know about Locker either. But Belichick will be ready just in case. If that interest amps up the run on QBs in the mid-late 1st and early 2nd, all the better.
exactly.
I assume other teams pay close attention to who we look at.
Belichick on draft dayand BB has good things to say about Dez Bryant when he worked out for us...
Chad Jackson claims examples can always be made to work, bad or not. That's kind of a bad example because Vizini gets tricked and is the one who ends up dying even though he thought he was so clever.
Anyways I think there's plenty of positive things to say about Dez Bryant. He's athletic and shows promise. However I wouldn't take him over McCourty.
I'll take the shutdown corner every time.
I wouldn't mind Hankerson in the 2nd this year though. He could be the next Greg Jennings maybe.
