Anyone know where I can get SB 49 in HD? There is a blu-ray, but the reviews I read said that it's not actually HD (and isn't the broadcast feed besides).

Also the playoff games in 2014 in good quality would be nice.

If the NFL still has SB49 up in full on its YouTube channel use youtube-dl or the like to download it in 720p (didn't appear that a 1080p version was available for).

Here's the game. It appears to have a 1080p version. Dunno why youtube-dl doesn't show 1080p as available. Maybe another tool does?

Ah -- I see why. 720p is the highest resolution where the video and sound are a single file. If you want 1080p you'll have to download the 1080p video by itself then download the sound by itself and then mux them together yourself. (I'm sure there are some tools out there that can do that, but that's too much work for me.)

And of course there are torrents. Check out reddit or Ten Yard Torrents.

The youtube SB 49 video looks great, thanks. I'll look around for the Patriots-Ravens 2014 playoff game. I never know whether to trust torrents or whether the quality is really any good. Ten Yard Torrents says it is not even accepting new users btw.

The whole situation is very frustrating. I'd have instantly purchased the 3 games to glory blu-ray if they just had HD broadcast, or the games on iTunes, but at least the reviews say it's some odd feed and not HD besides. The Ravens playoff game was one of the best games in NFL history, and yet it's not even available for purchase!

The latest 3 Games to Glory is HD. It's not the broadcast feed for the most part though (it's the NFL Films feed instead.) Only the 4th quarter of the SB is from the NBC broadcast.

The use of NFL Film footage in all the 3GtG discs always annoyed me. Their artsy-fartsy style is nice for documentaries and occasional highlights but is a terrible way to experience a game.

Consider one of their standard shots - see ball leave QBs hand. Then closeup on spiraling ball that fills most of the frame. Then zoom out a bit at the end as the receiver comes into the frame and catches it. Useless.

Well, either way it's a bizarre decision and one wonders if the NFL and the networks are doing this to try and sabotage the Patriots legacy. People want the broadcast feed in excellent quality, people want to pay for it - so they instead provide a feed nobody wants. (I was hoping the blu-ray would be better-than-broadcast quality, or 1020p or something, but no such luck).

Particularly in the case of the Ravens game: that was widely considered one of the great games ever, so what does the NFL gain - other than denigrating the Patriots legacy - by not making it available for purchase?

That said I'd still be interested in some specific way (not a torrent expert) to get top quality broadcast feed of the 2014 Ravens playoff game.
