Games like these are fun because you never know who is going to go out and have a big game, and it always seems like somebody has a breakout night just when we need it the most.

As a result, I'm curious to see who people think will be the player that breaks out with a strong showing Saturday night against the Texans. I figured this could be a fun exercise, especially with kickoff finally getting closer

Edelman, of course. After him? Dion and James White. I think the Texans will make the mistake of blitzing more often than they should and, as a result, chunk yardage will be there for the taking for those two.

I vote Dion because he can win on the ground or through the air. Like getting 2 chances for 1 player.

Jules is the obvious choice if the Texan D is "as advertised"
Hogan can easily win as I think 3-4 completions for 50-80 yards would be about his average to good game
Bennett might need to do more blocking, do that might limit his ability to produce yards/scores
Blount has been sick, but count me as a believer within 3 yards of the goal line
White might not see too much time
Floyd just doesn't have enough time in, though he might draw the easiest assignment
Gronk, sadly, doesn't have a chance to shine

Is there an option for "all of the above"?

Otherwise, Blount.

He's gonna breathe on everyone.

offensive line

the raiders have nothing but big fat slow guys on their OL.....the texans answered by playing a nickle with their 2 fat guys (wilfork and reader) to counter the size and give an extra mobile player on the field

against the pats, they're going to have to count on the fat guys to crush the pocket......which few have been doing

watch for a heavy dose of draws and play actions to keep their fat guys on their heels.....and lots of dump offs to white and lewis

death by a million paper cuts........again

I think Lewis. We seem to ramp up the running back throws in the post season and get big plays from them too.
Houston is more, with apologies to big Vince, a quickness defense than a power defense so this could be a game where dion gets more rushed than Blount

I picked Floyd. Could be anyone really. Sneaking suspicion it's Floyd this week. Big target against those corners.

Any word on active/inactives yet? Are they treating today like a Sat because of game tomorrow night?

James White. I don't know what the deal with Blount is with his sickness but I get the feeling he will not be 100%. Also Houston has a decent run D so Blount/Lewis won't accomplish a ton on the ground. It will be effective enough but I would not expect to get more than 120 yards on 35 carries. Also I expect to run more in the 2nd half when up and have it be more of a short passing game in the first half.

This will turn into a short passing game and White is the better WR threat than Lewis on the whole. White runs the full route tree. Lewis is better at the catch in the flat and make one guy miss but when it comes to actual routes White can do more.

I expect White to finish with 8 or so catches and break 1 big for 30-40 yards and get a TD. On the whole 8 catches 90 yards 1 TD.

The patriots ran for 185 on them last time and Blount had 24-105 himself.

Their run d is pretty average actually.
