As for why they would go for it... not saying they should but...

The 49ers offense has been potent lately. Pinning them inside the 5 isn't a bad thing. 4th and 5 isn't that hard to make probability wise.

And while i would still considering kicking it there and each decision should be judged by itself... i think you still need to give Darnold some blame there. That sack puts them in such a crap spot.

Edit: Another reason i don't hate going for it. While there is no hard fast rule... we all know Yards = points in a round about way. Ever since the start on the 35 has become a regular thing... longer fields when possible have become more valuable. If you expect a team to start at the 35 instead of the 20... pinning them inside the 5 is a much larger swing. They need to now travel 15 yards further to score. That in a round about way ups the value of pinning them inside the 5.

I have said this before but will say it again. Jennifer Garner is 53 years old... but still so incredibly pretty. I know Hollywood is great a helping that happen, but it is something.

Brock Purdy has had some of the best season EPAs since they started keeping track of the stat. He is a pretty good QB... but it goes to show more how well designed their offense is, how good the play calling is, and how good the players are around him. Including the OL of course.

LOL back to back WTF plays by both teams.

I think the Rams, Seahawks and 49ers are all better teams than the Patriots... but after seeing how the last few weeks of the season has gone... it is not by much... They all at times felt more imposing then they do right now.
