WEEI has lost a true professional. Another site I won't be going to. Read every book about the Pats from him and always love his insights. Someone needs to pick him up. But regardless, I think I speak for everyone when I say thanks for everything. I've seen him on the board before, so if you're reading this...we Pats fans will follow you wherever life takes you. Thanks again!

Do you (or does anyone) know whether this is possibly due to the change in ownership?

d%#*!@t!

Why is it that the true quality writers like a Christopher Price gets let go and all the detritus stay on?

This is not right. He was up there with the best reporters around the team. So EEI keeps a ****roach like Minihate but lets go of someone of substance?

He's too good for that place.

Hard to say. It was essentially announced several weeks (or more) before the sale was announced. So it probably was happening anyways, but we'll never know.

Well, at least there is some hope........Boston Globe, forthaluvagawd,FIRE the frickin' MCI and HIRE Chris Price NOW!!!!!!!!

Thanks Brett....like I said, based on some conversations I've already had, I feel really optimistic about what's next.

CPriceNFL
@CharlesPPierce @tumblr Not to be overly optimistic, but feels like we're moving in a good direction. Further updates as events warrant....

I despise Minihane, and I'd love to see him shipped out, but he's a morning host, not just a fill in who's main job is working the website. Price knew this was probably coming.

Best of luck to him in his search for another (and hopefully better) job in the industry.

Bummer. Price has long been the first writer I look to read on a daily basis for news and opinions on the Patriots.

When Price found out his contract was not being renewed a couple months ago (which probably had something to do with the impending merger), I'm sure he quickly spent a lot of time seeking new employment. Hopefully this will be a seamless transition, similar to Jeff Howe moving from NESN to the Herald or Mike Reiss going from the Globe to BSPN.

please don't go to BSPN! I rely on the kindness of posters here to repost Mike Reiss' articles. Let's not make it two columnists.

Chris started on this site (I'm not making this up, am I?) and he has always been modest, dispassionate and reliable -- excellent qualities in a reporter. I wish him the VERY best of luck for the future.
He didn't start here, he was contributing to us while he was working for a local sports newspaper. We were definitely fortunate to have him, and I was excited when WEEI decided to hire him. Same thing with Ryan Hannable. But this completely sucks, he's one of the best, so I don't understand their reasoning behind this at all

What a freaking joke. CP is a solid reporter. Enjoyed listening to him and Sheppard on Sundays.

Hannable is ok but CP is more plugged in.

Especially when they keep a total turd like Tomase.

Because worthless Hot Takes mean more than honest reporting with an educated opinion interjected here or there.

Such is the state of the media today.

Chris Price is one of the best in Boston; he reported what was going on with dignity and never sensationalized things to get more clicks. Another reason to not go to EEI.

I hope he lands in an even better position--that would be justice.
