Not really. They don't even have enough RB's to run a practice.

I read a report yesterday that all they offered Zeke was the vet minimum and not even guaranteed.

That's what lessens the chance of him joining the team

Mike Giardi wrote it at Bedard's site behind paywall.
Yeah that’s not what he said.
He was speaking about several teams, and it is unclear whether he means vet minimum (doubtful) or minimum they can get away with. There is no indication the one not wanting to guarantee is the Patriots.

Per league sources, there are several teams that remain in the mix to sign free agent running Ezekiel Elliott, including the Patriots. So what’s taking so long? Money. Shocking, right? Zeke would like more of it. The teams interested in his services would prefer to pay the bare minimum, including one, I’m told, that wants to sign the veteran RB post-week 1 so the contract is not guaranteed.

We’ll see how it goes. Not excited about it or anything but neither was I excited about Dion Lewis either. So ….. you never know?

This kid is thick….5’6”, 195. Decent speed (4.53).
That Is relatively small for back.. JJ Taylor weighs more that he. Signing really means nothing other than a body..

Totally. Dion Lewis had an insane year-and-a-half or so. He was fun to watch.

It probably means he is expected to replace Taylor on the practice squad.

Sorry, I misread it as team's (patriots) instead of teams (plural), and one as in one source, not one team.

No problem, that’s why I asked, it is very very common that posts about reports are not actually what the report says.

No, he really doesn’t. Taylor’s pre-draft measurables.

He’s smaller and slower.

Ok.. so there is a 1/4 inch difference in height. They are both small for the RB position.

I never wrote that he wasn’t small for a RB. I wrote that he was thick. 195 lbs. on a 5’6” frame is thick.

That’s not thick. That’s THIK!

Really hope we sign one of these veteran running backs.

Don't want to see Rhamondre ran into the ground
