@OliverBThomas: Patriots corners Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner logged 56 and 55 snaps, respectively. Kyle Arrington logged 48, Logan Ryan 36, per @PFF.

Anyone else impressed that we are completely shutting down the run with 3-4 CBs constantly on the field? Granted, the Broncos/Colts run games aren't the greatest.

And with two down linemen a fair amount of the time. It's mainly down to Wilfork, Hightower and Collins in my view. Hightower especially was dominating the box. The edge setters also deserve credit both for keeping Luck and the RBs boxed in.

My perception when we played the Jets was that BB has decided this team needs to be able to stop the run from the nickel, so now he almost always plays nickel, even against running teams.
Basically, if we need to beat a passing team in the postseason, we will do that playing predominately nickel, so lets put it out there against a run heavy team and get it right.

Revis took on an OL on one play. Very impressive. Really hope we work out a long-term deal with him. He plays a position where many of the great players are a-holes. He seems like True professional and solid citizen. Not the pound his chest type. Just needs a new alarm clock

If you tell me that for the next 3 years including this one, we get Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, and a defense that includes
Vince Wilfork
Chandler Jones
Dominique Easley
Rob Ninkovich
Donta Hightower
Jerrod Mayo
Jamie Collins
Any one of Sealver Siliga, Allen Branch or a similar guy
Devin McCourty
Darrelle Revis
Brandon Browner

and whatever other players you want to fill in the rest of the spots with then I say Brady gets rings # 4 and 5.

...until he decides he doesn't like the contract he signed.

Revis has always been a dream player from a football perspective, but a nightmare employee from a business perspective. He's so good, though, that capitulating on the business side is generally worth it. And as a fan, it's a privilege to watch him work.

I'll admit I was wrrooonnnnngggg. I was in the just let Big Vince walk and try to replace him with the money saved. I didn't think he'd have the same impact vs the run coming off that achilles injury. His play against Denver and Indy was spectacular. Cincy too. If we can limit his snaps down the stretch to a reasonable number, he should be fresh for the playoffs.

My general philosophy is don't underestimate champions. Especially as a fan. It's ok to be wrong and them not come back from injury. But just don't forget how hard they must have worked to get there.

It's why i am not counting out Mayo doing a similar type of deal next year. He has been a champion for us in the past and i believe he can be again.... if he does a similar redo of his contract that Wilfork has i.e playing time and performance bonuses.
