Rumors - NE interested in Allen Robinson

People crying about BB’s awful job performance are going to be in for quite a treat when they see his replacement.

Moves on from alltimer to go 7-9 with a glorified goal line runner and wins double digits to make the playoffs with a rookie, taken 5th at his position.

I’m not expecting three SBs in four years here, but we could do worse than BB.

Last point : obsession w the WR position has hit epic frenzy in recent years on patsfans. Some here would rather watch a guy go 1400 yards than win a championship. Strange. WR glitz rarely translates to rings.

The issue being that talent does usually win out in the league. No one has been more talented than Brady. Brady elevated a number of receivers that he played with. Asking Mac to do the same in his 2nd year with Bill or Judge being the OC is a huge ask. So getting that 1400 yard WR that would replace Agholor in the lineup is very beneficial. Right now you have Myers Henry and Bourne as the teams reliable weapons. They need more. If you're not going to have an OC this year you might as well over compensate with talent. Having a Pro Bowl QB on a rookie deal is a great situation to take advantage of.

The sounds of it say Agholor and Harry are on the move?

I mean, Harry will have a hard time sticking on the team...there's no lightbulb going off there. I expect the Pats would trade Agholor is they found a partner, but they won't cut him, adn I doubt there's a huge market for him in a trade at this point.
I'm just going off of reports that Agholor is being discussed as a potential trade piece namely to the Raiders (which makes some sense as he's familiar with a McDaniels offense and that would provide some value ) and just assuming Harry is cut/traded.

The point I was trying to make is that there is on going discussion and debates about wether we sign a top FA WR or go after a top WR in the draft...and I'm asking why not both?

We certainly have more than 1 opening in the group considering only 2 consistent contributors (Meyers and Bourne) currently exist.

We did get 4 tightends in 2 offseasons.

Pats never seem to be in for WR studs. Remember Golladay? We sure could have used his type of WR#1 production here last year. Those 0 TDs in 14 games sure would have been handy.

Jacobi Meyers says hey.

I'm starting to think that Robinson is going to get paid a lot and will be too expensive for us. Hopefully I'm wrong, if they can sign him or someone similar, we'll be able to focus manly on improving our defense in the draft.

To be fair Golladay was banged up and looked cooked. There is and always has been a chasm between him and Allen Robinson in terms of talent. If we're going to use Golladay as the barometer of why the Pats shouldn't go after a WR1 this is a tough crowd.

Robinson immediately vaults to # 1 WR on this team.

His YAC is low because Robinson has the where-withal to run the route deep enough for the 1st down. His forte is also sideline routes going out of bounds. He was deadly with Tribisky moving the chains. The Bills have been playing 8 men in the box vs Jones choking off the NE passing game. The Pats have to get rid of the ball fast to guys who are covered and Robinson would be my first look. Ive seen defenses play text book coverage vs Robinson and he still makes the reception.
How much would you be willing to pay per year for ARobinson?

Agholor for Hunter Renfro seems like a fair trade.

We will find out in 19 minutes.....

What a disaster signing.

Prime example of a player only taking into account the amount of money he’ll make over the how good the team is and what QB is throwing him the ball.

TB. Godwin and Evans and Brown
Packers. Adams
Rams cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham
Bengals. Chase, Higgins
Chiefs Tyreek Hill
Ciwboys Ceedee Lamb and Cooper
Niners Deebo Samuel
Titans AJ Brown

Yes I guess you do not need a #1 receiver to compete for SB
Keep deluding yourselves

I see you don't drink the BB Kool aid either.

As a coach he is the GOAT. As a GM he is average

GREAT agent too show us the $$$$$$.

I’ve often said that he is amongst the alltime greatest HC. I’ve suggested people can’t name 5 GMs that were better and I suspect you’ll not be able to find 5 greater GMs than BB.

Jones needs a #1, not more 2’s 3’s, and 4’s. Robinson is the only # in free agency. The only other option is to get it in the first round of the draft. They shouldn’t waste money in guys like Valdez-Scantling or Chark. they have enough of those guys already.

DO IT. Stop messing around.

Trade Agholor/Harry and recoup $11.7M of cap to make it happen.

Focus draft on OL/DL, CB, DE, LB.
you're assuming someone wants to pay Agholor $11M when Robinson can be had in the 13-14m range...?
