Patriots Player Departure Rumor: Moss to Vikings?

People are gonna hate me for rehashing old stuff, but we should have never traded Deion Branch. Never. We should have paid that guy.

agreed... Branch in 06 would have won the super bowl... and we would have won it in 07 with branch , just no undefeated season... This is dumber than Branch move, lets hope in 2 weeks there is another shoe to drop, but something tells me i doubt it...

If Moss has gone 'cancerous' as it sounds like, then whats the point of keeping him?

As i said earlier it will just turn into a circus and we#d end up forkin up a great bunch of youngsters

get rid and move on

Re: Moss for a 3rd is illogical

Isn't it clear that the compensation is irrelevant?

You don't trade your star receiver in the middle of a season with a 3-1 because you're oh-so excited about draft picks. (Especially when you already have 2 firsts, 2 seconds and a team packed with youth.) You only do it because he's making himself a liability in ways that fans aren't privy to. Otherwise the move just doesn't make sense, regardless of what you get back.

like the idea that the offense needs to protect the defense by being more ball control instead of quick strike/quick out offense?

this actually makes the pats harder to scheme against since the scope of the offense will become broader

you could have surmised this given how the pats reemphasized TE's this year. with 2 young guys like gronk and hernandez, you now have a formidable 2 TE set guaranteed to be here for a few years. this could have happened sooner if they knew they could expect what they are getting from their young TE's now. The 2 TE set which was the pats bread and butter in their SB years is much better prepared to attack the aggressive defenses many playoff-potential teams (jets, ravens, steelers), while the randy moss based offense struggled against these teams

Maybe. Whatever it is is pissing me off.

I don't ******* care. I bet Randy would have calmed down if given a nice extension. Pay the man and thrown him a couple of slants. The guy is fragile and amazing. Why couldn't they deal with it??? But hey, at least we signed Peppers and Mankins and Dansby and Boldin with all of the money we're saving, right? **** me.

I have to step away, I'm going to flip out. Too late. Meltdown.

Eh, we all deal with it in different ways. Let's just hope that, unlike Seymour, we have someone lined up from another team or waiting in the wings on this team that can replace his production. If not, let's hope that Brady and the offense can adapt on the run. They're going to need to.

We might have had another ring it they did.

What's with the DB love fest? He was average elsewhere.

Money cures some cancers.

No might about it, IMO. We would have had another ring with Branch. But it is what it is. Let's not compound what's happening here with Moss by throwing Branch into the mix. There's no need.

he's put up some pretty big numbers since he's left right? now if you said asante then i could have understood

Oh good. All the big cheeses are here now. Kontra, PatJew, Sean Da Patriot, Shmessy, and a few more. I feel more better reading what they're sayin. I woke up and I thought I was still sleep and havin' a nightmare with this insane Randy sh*t. Freaking rude awakening, even in this Life of Riley I lead. Holy crappah!

Money cures some cancers.

Money just shuts them up for a few months, they always come back. AQnd if the cancer is too bad before you cure it no matter what happens it's gonna get ya

Unfortunately, I agree with you PJ. I've been following the NFL and Pats for a long time and I usually try to keep a cool, long-term view of things, not overreacting to ups or downs, but this...this, I don't understand.

The whole premise of this season (one of Brady's last three or four "in his prime") was that an out-sized Offense with two Number 1 WR's sucking the coverage out of the secondary would compensate for a good but growing-pains Defense. I don't think we can rely on 21 points out of ST's every game, , so I'm not sure where we go from here.

I wonder how Tom Brady feels about this.

This

what happens every game )if we did pay him and extend him) if he didn't get the ball 10 times a game? More whining,, pouting etc. As I said it becomes the Randy circus act. BB doesn't need it and nor do the team

get rid and move on

I can't wait until someone comes out and actually confirms whether or not something happened behind the scenes with Moss and the team. So far, it's been a ton of hearsay. However, with that said (and do remember that I am against the trade), if Moss became a "cancer" behind the scenes, then people should remember what BB told him in his first meeting with the team.

With that said, though, BB has also put up with a lot from him over the last year or so. If something happened between the two, it must have been pretty bad.

I don't think that is a valid argument in profesional sports some people have more value to the cause then others.

Brady and Branch knew each other well. They were a good team, seperate the team and change your offensive system and of course he is not going be as productive.

That argument don't fly.

Tommy's gonna start thinking that his contracts jinx him. Look what happened after he signed his "home town discount" contract a few years ago? Givens and Branch were gone. Now, he signs again, and four weeks later, Moss is gone.

This reminds me of the family guy episode when a guy asks Peter you can have this boat or whats in this box. Peter takes the box. Lois asks Peter how could you
Not take the boat? Peter responds because their could be anything in this box...maybe even a boat. Peter is later jealous when he sees his neighbors with new boats.
That will be us on Halloween. This trade seems so bad considering your dealing with such a desperate win now team. Who is the other outside guy now?
