I don't follow the Chargers or Merriman, but I usually can tell what's been edited and what hasn't. It was on Getty, though, so I assumed it was a 'real' picture.

I didn't think teams just cropped heads onto bodies if a certain player wasn't present at the time.

Anyway, nice Brady picture.

Whatever the reason, Merriman simply isn't the same force on the field this year. This won't be the last of the whispers.

I can understand why some fans who just look at things on the surface might not realize what's going on and jump to conclusions. Merriman is being used in coverage a lot more with Cottrell's defensive scheme so he's not going to put up the gaudy sack numbers playing this scheme. Not to mention the entire team in under-performing.
