Sorry, I had to get that off my chest. My biggest pet peeve. --gate is the most infuriating thing to happen to the English language since the phrase "hate on" and using "ball" as a verb (unless making a 70s porn reference).

and anyone who thinks that you can't label a controversy by adding "-gate" is either in denial or has been living under a rock.

It is like adding "acoholic" after anything that someone likes to excess:

As I said, this story was updated with those comments after I posted as I said, this is spin ! Rooney tried to explain away Harrison by saying a religous motive makes hitting a woman less serious then just walking up and punching her in a bar.
