“The hard thing about what happened to us this year, and I guess the reason I have such an issue with it is — you play the Super Bowl, you lose the Super Bowl. Then they tell you you’re going to open up the season against the team you just lost to in the Super Bowl,” he said. “So for the next five months, I’ve got to put up with it, deal with it, answer the questions, relive it constantly, over and over and over. Honestly, it becomes a drag. You guys know it cause I got tired of answering the questions and our guys got tired of answering the questions. . . .

We asked for certain things to help us out. We didn’t get any of it. So I’m disappointed, let’s be honest. I’ve got a group of men in there that have done nothing but do the things that we’ve asked for the last five years. It’s been a battle to get to where we are and sometimes I feel disrespected.”

Ron Rivera still complaining about having to open the season on road

WTF! This little undeserving b1tch has won coach of the year twice and this is his character, a whiny loser who complains about the big bad schedule and publicly decries a denied request for preferential treatment? Other coaches would have used the game as an opportunity to reestablish confidence, but apparently after losing again it's another story. Can they reallocate those two COTY awards to Bill Belichick?

I'm starting to realize why the NFL is a childish as it appears. These guys are pros at excuse making, especially in front of microphones.

Hmmm...Cam Newton and Ron Rivera are getting individual hardware lately, but Tom and Bill are not? Something is wrong here.

Why does everyone have to feel disrespected nowadays?

God, you play 8 games on the road, 8 at home

does it really matter where you play your first?

If you won the superbowl, you should open at home, anyone else, its a crap shoot

whiny *****, lost a bit of respect there

Too many feel "Dis'd" these days. It has the opposite effect and people react with a "Who gives a ****"

"Waaaaambulance to base....Waaaaambulance to base. En route to emergency room with two males. One White, one Hispanic, in poor condition. Both complaining of persistent butt hurt. White male, age 53, name: Harbaugh, John. Hispanic male, age 54, name: Rivera, Ron. Both crying uncontrollably. ETA six minutes. Over."

"Base to Waaaaambulance. Re-route to somebody who gives a sh%t.. Over."

"Roger that, Base. .....Waaaaambulance to Rex. Waaaaambulance to Rex....."

“I’m just airing my frustration about that. I really feel it was a great opportunity for us to be able to honor our fans. I really feel that for my five seasons here, they’ve been great. I can’t be grateful enough.”

Lol, for what? You didn't do didly squat! That's right, just like the 07 Patriots didn't do didly squat. What a loser!

Dear Ron,

The general rule is the following: the winner of the SB gets a home opener, unless they're the Ravens. Everyone else gets whatever the hell they're given. Take a look at the Bills schedule over the next stretch:

Cardinals
AT NE
AT L.A.
49ers
AT Miami
Patriots
AT Seattle
AT Cincinnati

Now, quit whining like a little *****, and get back to coaching.

Ron should start sitting during the National Anthem until he and the Panthers gets some respect.

I think the worst part is the Panthers fans are backing Rivera on this, like wtf!

Quite a week for coaches:

Rivera reveals he is an insufferable crybaby.

Ryan passionately assures everyone he will be the first to go if the team doesn't turn it around, then promptly scapegoats the OC, who has far outperformed expectations with a RB as his QB.

Arians points his finger at numerous players, dissing them to the press.

Patriots fans have *****ed about the schedule in the past. I've got no problem with people *****ing about bad schedules, because they do matter. My only bone with Rivera is that he uses the SB loser status as if it should mean something when the schedule is made. Yeah, it sucks to have to face the team that beat you, but it's an out of conference game, for crying out loud. Here's a look at who the recent SB WINNERS had to face the following week one

Broncos - had to play Panthers
Patriots - had to play Steelers
Seahawks - had to play Packers
Ravens - had to play Broncos

So, every recent SB winner was matched up against a projected SB contender.

This attitude is why they lost twice.

He should have relished the idea of instant revenge, instead he showed fear and weakness which is contagious and won't have helped the players.

"We dont wanna play them again cos they beat us before!! Waaaa"

Rivera knows better. He's coaching a marquee team with the NFL MVP, so they get lots of night games to feature matchups for TV. He should quit whining. They could be the Jags and never see a prime time game.

The real screw jobs come with ridiculous East-West travel and the distraction of a game in London. The NFL put the Raiders and Seahawks away games back to back for the Panthers which was a gift.

The NFC South drew the AFC West this year, so that's the rub, really. The AFC West may be the best division in football. All four of those teams are tough. I really like what Oakland has assembled as a team, and see them emerging as the division winner.

We're spoiled. Every year is a stacked schedule of division winners outside the automatic games. Who cares? People circle the Patriots on the schedule as their big game, not vice versa.

Rivera should be embarrassed.

Win the SB and you won't have this problem.

I cannot stand entitlement when accomplishment is squat.

The panthers wanted to unveil their nfc championship banner? Well, their owner was a colt back in the 50s

Well win the Superbowl and you wont have to worry about this.

If he wanted to open the year at home, he should have told his quarterback not to turtle in Super Bowl 50.

Wrecks was forced to fire his OC by the team's owner.
