washed up my butt!

I bet he also leads the league in blown coverage.

He is washed up, he's the worst started on the D by a mile.

Even if they're not his blown coverages personally, they are a sign that the secondary is allowing too many completions. Not bad for Rodney, not good for the Patriots.

delusional. he is above average in coverage.

how can someone who leads the team and the entire nfl in tackles be the worst starter on the team? He has more tackles than MLB's, OLB's, ILB's and he is a SS!

how many deflections does he have?

+1 for Rodney being part of a a LOT of blown coverages

GREAT!! He can teach the class during the off week!

Rodney doesnt blow coverages, he is the smartest player on the field and is actually always in good position. He has lost speed however which hampers his ability to cover stride for stride. I hope you arent blaming Rodney for that illegal pick that knocked him down, thats his fault?

Your Strong Safety leading the team in tackles usually isn't a good thing, but Rodney's pretty much always been a tackling machine so I wouldn't automatically say his racking up tackles indicates a lack of quality on defense.

For those who've forgotten, Rodney has lead all DB's in tackles a few different times during his stay in NE, and the Patriots won multiple SB's when he was racking up those totals.

exactly sebastian, Rodney is all over the field, heck half the time he is on the line of scrimmage. If he keeps up this production he will make the probowl this year, its looking like he gunna have another one of those 120+ tackle seasons.

You think Harrison will stay healthy for 16+? Thats not going to happen. Especially if he's making that many tackles each week.

Harrison making a ton of tackles means others aren't tackling well or that the D is on the field a lot.

Not good.

Rodney had 126 and 138 tackles in 03 and 04. Our D was elite those SB years too, Rodney is just a linebacker type safety who makes alot of plays, has nothing to do with our D being bad.

On a rock solid defense your top tacklers are usually the DEs or DL and at worst the second tier with LBs - if your leading tackler is in the 3rd tier called the secondary then you are not stopping the play up front - That spells doom for a defense

This defense is not quite an elite one at this point and you have to laugh at anyone who suggests that if you watched yesterday's game where Ronnie Brown made a mockery of BBs and Pees defensive schemes - It was excellent defense holding the team together post Brady in the first 2 games but who knows now where they go in 2 weeks when another bruiser named Frank Gore comes to play.

Can I remind everyone that it's still early in the season and leading anyone in anything is insignificant.

I mean, Steve Slaton had a great game for the Houston Texans last week, great ypc. That's not going to mean anything over the year.

So... the first two games were decent defensively. Yesterday? Um, no.

IF a safety is leading the team in tackles that should be a red flag.

Finally, a voice of sanity.A Safety leading Your team in tackles is NEVER a good thing.I know that most peoples' memory of the Patriots only goes back to 2001, but once Ricky Harris led the Patriots in tackles and The Patriots finished dead last in the League. Those who don't heed History are subject to relive it !

Did you even -read- the rest of this thread? Look it up - Harrison led the Pats in tackles in both 2003 & 2004. Those defenses weren't too shabby

Please. Not even close. Look at your man James Sanders. He is by far the worst. At least Rodney can tackle some.

PATRIOT64 - You're an ignorant moron. DLs are never at the top in tackles, b/c that isn't their job on running plays. Their job is to occupy OLs and hold their positions, so the LBs can make the tackles. It's embarrassing to knowledgeable Pats fans when dolts like you run your mouths.

If Rodney leads the League in tackles, it puts a spot light on how poor of a job the front 7 have done this season so far.

You CAN not live in the NFL with your safety being your leading, and most sound tackler...
