Rex Ryan: "I don't like Tom Brady. I respect him, but I don't like him."

pats smell bad

No, that's your coach's flatulence problem. Word is that it REALLY offended Revis during their closed-door meeting at mini-camp.

Jeez I was really disappointed when I read that with the way it was being talked up in the thread. This is nothing, its just a coach being honest. I just don't understand people who get so excited over something so harmless.

I absolutely love your sig pic.

I kinda feel like I am in fifth grade all again. I am having flashbacks to the time in home room where Susie Smith (names have been changed to protect the innocent) used to pass me notes asking me to check which box I feel about her: I hate her, I like her, I like, like her. Apparently Rexy checked the I hate Tom box.

Give me 2 good reasons. No, give me 1 good reason.

...we aren't going to stoop down to his level, that's why.

The best way to defuse that windbag is to not go down to his level of childishness.

I don't hate the Jets, I just intensely dislike them. I find it difficult to hate a team that's irrelevant. When you think about it, they really don't count.

I just saw the segment on espn (which not surprisingly was preceded with a rehashing of spygate, as well as mention of the Jets' two most recent victories over the Pats), and in my opinion the comments by both Brady and Ryan were rather benign.

The only enlightening fact that I came away with was that over the entire history of their franchise, the Jets have won the division just four times: twice about forty years ago with Weeb Ewbank, once with Parcells, and once on a three-way tie breaker under Herm Edwards. We're all aware that the Jets have only one championship, which happened before most football fans and (I believe) all current NFL players were born, but I didn't realize their lack of success extended to so few division titles as well.

Wow. They really are a curse team. 4 times in over 40 years. Now we understand what the typical jets fan goes through. It has to be their parents or grandparents to bask in the once greatness of victory for the jets.

Can anyone imagine Bill Belichick entering a similar discussion with an opposing player???

Rex is the consummate media whore... it will prove to be his downfall.

I am soo looking forward to that happening this season and the mediots eat him alive, after all, there is a lot of him.

He's so much better in NY than Herm or even Parcells ever were.

RR can crawl in a hole and die for all i care. I hate everything about that man and every time i see his ugly mug with his hideous turkey neck and horse smile on TV i wish someone would run up and punch him in the mouth.

And so it goes...
" Hey Tom! What do you think of Rex Ryan?"
TFB: " Well, I like him but I don't respect him.":rocker::bricks:

But the Grand Canyon is pretty far away. And where will you find a cargo plane big enough to get him there?

Not sure about that. Tuna in his prime was GREAT theater.

He could put on a show and have them laughing with him rather than at him...and unlike Rex, he has the rings to back up the bravado and swagger

The Antonov AN-24 might work.....We'll just give the Russkies some more spies back.

Not that I mean to nitpick or anything... but...

I do believe that Brett Farve was born that year... but yeah I get what you're saying.

As for the rest of this non-story, it's rediculous. I saw a teaser on it yesterday or the day before on ESPN, and I was like ohhh this might be fun to follow, cuz of how much I can't stand the jets.

Then after they played the whole thing by what Tom and Rex said.. it was a major disappointment. I was expecting major name calling and stuff, but man it was so tame its not even funny. I dont think what Tom said was wrong, and I dont think what Rex said was wrong.

It was one guy (Tom) saying he didn't like a certain team, and the guy on the other team (Rex) basically saying its understandable, and the feeling is mutual.

Major Non-Story. Stupid as hell how the media tried to make it into a big thing.

Agreed. Rex didn't say anything that bad. He basically just acknowledged the rivalry and also acknowledged his jealousy of Brady over having Super Bowl rings. In a sense, he said that he respected Brady, but hated him because Brady has proven to be a champion and he hasn't yet. Nothing to freak out about, IMO.
