Rewatching The Warriors movie

I always notice that when the gang split up at the 96th St Station, that it’s actually the 72nd St Station on Manhattan’s Upper West Side where the scene was shot at. Also, when they get inside on the platform, that’s actually the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Street Station in downtown Brooklyn. I literally live on Surf Avenue in Coney Island, a few blocks from where the infamous “Warrrriorrrrs, come out and plaaaaayyy!…” scene was filmed. Classic cult film.

Really funny to see the main dude in Xanadu. Certainly was a career choice for him. ONJ was smoking in that movie, though, so I get it.

I had my 15 year old son watch it last summer. A little thing that stood out when the film first came out was the scene where a gang member went to tell the Riffs who really killed Cyrus. The guy was covered in tattoos, arms and chest. In 1979, that was someone who looked unusual. Now, it’s every third person at the beach.

Always thought it was neat finding out the “Warriors, come out to play” part was ad-libbed by the actor himself. Iconic movie quote and it wasn’t even part of the script. That’s awesome.

Great movie, and yet...you have bats and you lost a fight. Idiots. Lol

I wonder what David Patrick Kelly (Luther and author of the improvised line "warriors come out to play") thinks when he is seeing more coverage than in the last 47 years.

I ordered the movie this last week should be in tomorrow. I haven't seen it in years, really loved it when it came out(yes that old). Great music soundtrack.

One of the 1st times i got stoned was hanging out with friends watching this movie on VHS when it was available. Probably 1981-82. Good times.
