Glaser was cutting cost on the behest of Bologna Bob.

The owner with the 31st rated franchise per NFLPA. The guy with a plane with no wifi and little seats like Jetblue. Peanuts or pretzels?

Who was the one who pinched pennies until they screamed last FA period? Figures team Bologna has moved on to taking jabs at Glaser after Mayo threatened legal action.

After Thunders HOF bid blew up Mayo and Glaser were expendable.

Instead of patching up the lighthouse, BK may have to build a new stadium with a retractable roof to secure a Super Bowl.

“Former executive vice president of football business Robyn Glaser is also gone from the Patriots and out of the league. Multiple sources told the Herald that Glaser tried to cut costs around the organization to ensure they were spending more effectively.

A team source believed Glaser tried to make changes within the organization without a full understanding of what processes she was changing. When asked for an example, the source said that Glaser’s approach was to simply do the opposite of what Bill Belichick had done in several areas. Now with Vrabel aboard as head coach, a coach-centric power structure that worked for years under Belichick has returned and simplified matters.”
Like I said, eh? Just don't be like Bill, Jerod, and everything else will take care of itself.

What a dysfunctional mess. The guy who was the architect of an unprecedented 20 year run was so loathed in his own offices that when they finally divorced, they go about business by doing the opposite of what he did.

That makes a lot of freakin' sense.

It seems like this just keep getting worse.

So freaking stupid. I'm embarrassed.

They seem to have completely reversed course with the spending stuff this year so I don’t necessarily think it was a Kraft directive.
I tend to agree which is why i'd like to know which specific policies she was changing.

My gut tells me it was more coach/front office stuff. "Collaboration" if you will.

Once Vrabes came in those "efficiencies" were no longer a priority or necessary.

Greg hill mentioned today that her and Mayo the relationship eroded to where they weren't even speaking.
I wonder how that all went down. Other than Orchids she was his biggest supporter.

Yeah, I have to think she was doing this either at the behest of Kraft or to curry favor with Kraft.
100%. They were so sick of Bill that they really thought they could just get rid of Bill and everything else would be smooth sailing.

I can honestly see it either way. Kraft either told her, "Go in there. Help Mayo since he doesn't know what he's doing. And keep costs down wherever you can," or she just knew Kraft well enough that she went to him and said, "I also found lots of places to cut spending," assuming he would like it.

I really think it was a concerted effort to Not Be Like Bill.

Oh, absolutely. But I think that was more on Mayo's end. Bill was never know as throwing money around, so I'm not sure how cutting costs would be the opposite of Bill.

Thats my thinking as well.

My theory is it started when Bill was still here and the "collaboration" plan went into effect. Bob and Jonathan empowered her to create processes to facilitate better collaboration (see decentralization of Bill's authority) and that's what she attempted to do. She met resistance from Bill (no ****). Once Bill left, she took advantage of the power vacuum and attempted to do more **** on her own. She quickly pissed off Mayo and god knows who else. She might have even pissed Bob and Jonathan off. Once Vrabel was hired he concluded her organizational framework and policies were not aligned to his vision and perhaps determined she was bad news.

I think it was a control thing. Bill controlled the spending, not Kraft. So now Bill was gone, and they could get control.

"Go in there and cut any frivolous spending." Except she had no idea what frivolous spending looked like.

The Krafts wanted the team back. They put a guy in charge they loved, they had a lawyer they trusted cutting costs and assumed the X's and O's would take care of itself, because for 20 years +, from 30,000 feet, it had taken care if itself.

Thank God RKK saw his error(s) and brought Vrabel in.

I know right.. her being senior advisor to him had to present some challenges.. you could tell from all the pressers mayo did all season that he was being told what to do rather than encouraged. The whole Collorboration was a joke. My question is does wolf remain post draft?

I dunno. They still kept his front office people and coaches. It's not like they completely eradicated the org of "all things Bill"

Once Bill stopped winning that eroded away any remaining tolerance the Krafts had of Bill. He had enough of him.

What is obvious is how clueless they were of what Bill actually did and what it takes to run a successful NFL franchise. My belief is they concluded Bill's program was archaic and the real reason why they won was Tom.

Imagine if we knew all of this BEFORE last season started.

The stadium would have been empty from day 1.

Your right RW. Once the champagne stopped popping, the Lombardis stopped being hoisted ownership grew weary.. then the Embarrassment of last season under Mayo hiring him even against the wishes of Jonathan. Thunder wants to get the organization headed in the right direction. They best be thankful Vrabel was available to them.

I'll show you some real hard knocks:

Robyn Glaser was cutting costs behind the scenes for the Patriots.

She was trying to do the “opposite” of what Bill Belichick did inside of Foxboro.

I remember asking early last offseason where she fit in all this. I know some people on here said she was just a bean counter, but it seemed to me like she was meddling more in the football side of things. Then a couple of months ago when Bill Belichick was on the Pat McAfee Show after Mayo got canned, Bill specifically name-dropped Glaser when asked about what went wrong last season, which confirmed my belief that Glaser had worked her way up the ladder.
