How about Artrell Hawkins? He never gets mentioned with the successful street free agent types, but he really saved the team in '05 by coming in and stabilizing the safety position. Team lost to Denver in the playoffs that year, but Hawkins was really a great addition. Here's hoping Vincent Fuller has that sort of impact--I really feel he could be a huge difference maker if he can play to that level.

A return to the cat defense would be an improvement.

Obviously the writer has never seen the Patriots DBs, WRs or RBs.

He's under 200 lbs at 6'1". No reason a stocky shorter DB would necessarily have trouble holding up, I believe the writer is trying to say he's skinny.

FWIW (and that's not much) he is rated 76 in Madden, making him our 2nd best safety.

My buddy is a crazy Hokies fan and tends to know a great deal about their NFL alums. He says Fuller is a solid tackler who doesn't make very many mistakes. Not likely to make many jawdropping plays or be great against the run, but should be serviceable in passing situations.
