Report: McNally and Jastremski to be reinstated with new roles

New roles because Vincent's letter specifically said that if they were ever reinstated they could not have positions where they'd prepare or handle balls.

Did King Vincent decree to show mercy on those poor serfs?

I have to admit I'm not understanding why their reinstatement somehow means the NFL is somehow admitting nothing happened, as many apparently claim.

Especially since the punishment letter explicitly contemplated their reinstatement.

Our buddy Volin confirms

@BenVolin: Source confirms that no league discipline is coming for #Patriots employees Jastremski and McNally. Will be reinstated with new roles soon

They spent millions and millions of dollars and wasted the time of a federal court because two low level employees "ruined the integrity of a Championship Game" and now it's all OK and they can return? Sorry QM but if the NFL believes their own hype then neither should be allowed to work In the NFL.

No League Discipline!

I'm curious how this impacts the NFL's pending appeal of Berman's ruling.

Actually, it fits in perfectly with the NFL's position that Brady orchestrated "a scheme". They were low level grunts pressured into it by Brady, so the benevolent NFL is giving them a second chance so long as they're not near balls.

As a keyboard warrior I am disappointed this hasn't gone to lawsuits that relitigate the substance of deflategate. As a human being with empathy for their situation I am happy they can go back to work.
This has little to do with them and their ability to sue for being accused of participating in a conspiracy to cheat. NFL is not off that hook. I wish I was in their position with the ability to sue the multibillion dollar NFL based on the Wells report in front of a Massachusetts jury. NFL will pay them off big time just to stop the discovery process of NFL electronic communications about Deflategate. I can almost guarantee that some NFL owners sent Goodell texts and emails about it telling him to slam the Patriots and this would all be discoverable and important to show that Goodell was under pressure from the people who employ him.
