Report: Kraft has had discussions about potentially moving on from Belichick

This totally disregards the fact that Brady showed up on Stephen Ross's yacht before the 2019 season.

In retrospect, this duplicates what happened with Parcells in 1995. He met with the Jets prior to the season, then he went to Kraft and asked for contract changes that would reduce his buyout to one year.

From then onward, the media has repeated that Parcells left because Kraft wouldn't but him the groceries. No one mentions that Parcells deliberately planned to leave a full year before he jumped ship. Would you let someone pick your franchises future players when he has already made his plans to leave?

I have no doubt that Brady's appearance on Ross's boat will be disregarded.
Nope. It actually matches up nicely. Once Brady did not get the extension he wanted after he won the SB (hilarious in hindsight), he got his 3 million increase to $23MM (laughable absurd underpay) and they reworked the contract to make him a free agent after that year. That is clearly when he decided he was done here and started looking to secure his future, hence the Ross stuff after.

I am sure that is when Kraft and Bill decided they were moving on. Otherwise you simply don't allow your QB to become a free agent. The whole "he earned the right to decide his future" was pure PR BS as everyone understood the ****storm that would follow if it was painted as the team moving on.

Boggles the mind how people think an NFL team would just allow their starting elite QB to become a FA if they still wanted him.

I do as well. However something tells me we'll be stuck with BB next season. Likely I can see him saying to RK.. we were decimated by injury, the injuries on the Offensive line is why we struggled.. allow
me more season to correct this... that would pretty much be a hamster on a wheel..
I would hate to see that happen. I suppose I could stomach another year with Bill as HC (though that would not be my preference), but Bill the GM has demonstrated his hopeless incompetence over several years now and absolutely must go. My strong preference, to be clear, would be for a complete fresh start, with new people at both HC and GM. I would give Mayo a fair shake in the interview process, but a fair shake only: without any presumption of his being the "front runner" going into that process.

I watched a squirrel devour a sparrow on my deck. I never knew that they ate birds. He sat there holding the bird and ate every speck of him from his head down. I called my wife over to see it so it would help me get rid of the bird feeder. It worked. My only regret is that I couldn't get a video of it.
OMG I did not need to read that. Always thought of them as cute and harmless.

My mom used to feed one outside our place to the point that it visited her daily and would follow her around when she left the house.

Eventually we are going to have a new coaching staff in the organization. So I'll agree why not start in the offseason. As I've mentioned at 72.. he's taken on more than he's ever done in his almost 5 decades of coaching. It Clearly has affected his on field decisions.. as it goes , your only as good as the people around you.

That’s fine but as long as he’s a head coach only. He is done as GM. He actually should be done as GM right now before the trade deadline. No point letting him pick the groceries when dinner won’t be ready till he’s not here anymore.

That I agree with. Bill was content to offer Brady 1 year deals at half market value. Brady wanted 2 years at still way below value and Bill decided no. Brady decided he was done begging for a contract every year and left. Belichick was ok with that.

Kraft signed off on all this. He may not have liked it but he agreed with Bill either because he thought Brady was past it or because he thought Brady was near done and did not want to lose Bill over that. He essentially chose Bill.

They did not even talk contract till Brady announced he was leaving which was pure PR. Nobody just ignores their free agent starting QB, not even talk to him and let him talk to other teams unless they wanted him gone.

Anyone who can't see this is how things went down is simply delusional.

It may have been Bill's call but Kraft 100% blessed it. So he can't now just lay the blame at Bill's feet only.

All this after I said I won't rehash this. Now I will stop.
Brady was irked that he did not demand to be the highest paid player in NFL history so BB could afford to pay for a team.

BB brought in misfits and bums for WRs.

And QBs as we saw with your boy crappy zappy. Too bad he didn’t pick Howell instead of the smurf he might have had a good shot at sending Mac Jones to the bench for good.

Man that Marvin Harrison Jr. would look good in Foxboro. I sure wouldn't mind a top 5 pick next year - although quite honestly I doubt he gets out of the top 3.

Cunningham is rising.

Good call

The one out Bill might have is if the rumor about Kraft being the one to have wanted Mac is true. Again, rumor. If true, Bill might buy be able to point out that he can’t win with Mac and Mac will be shown the door and then Bill will be given another 1-2 seasons to turn it around.

Cunningham isn’t an NFL QB and I’d still take him over your hero crappy zappy and his one throw at the combine. Wheeee!

And apparently so does the team. Yikes!

BB looked impressed with Mac here didn’t he. Lol

So will Mac Jones end up being remembered as the guy who ended a legendary coach’s career or will Bill remembered as the legend who ruined a QB’s career? Going to be interesting to see which way this goes

Cunningham as starting QB and the TANK is on.

Can only imagine the stories BB wants to leak in response to the constant leaks from Kraft's camp, all designed to maintain the appearance of Kraft as the virtuous matriarch of the organization.
