Report: Kraft has had discussions about potentially moving on from Belichick

When is BB's contract up anyway? I thought it was through the 2024 season but I can't find that information anywhere.

Could we get a uniform change also? Or revert to the non-color rush ones? This mini era needs to end. Even the uniform choices were laughable.

With the way he’s been drafting over the last decade plus? I should certainly hope not. What I meant is this - if he wants to hand off the GM duties (say, to John Dorsey), I’m fine with keeping him as a HC no matter how the seasons turns out. BB cannot maintain the GM duties, though.

Yep, I have no problem keeping Bill as HC in order to try to catch the hated Shula as long as either Eliot Wolf or another outsider chosen by ownership is named GM.

They've always kept those deals on the down low.

I don't think BBs contract is an impediment to him leaving the organization.

In my opinion the best thing for the franchise is to stick with Belichick until the QB situation has been resolved with a QB who can at least beat good teams, and make them a contender. The reason I say this is because no coach is going to win without that piece being in place, and replacing Belichick would simply put them on the coaching carousel, where coaches fail and get fired every 2-3 years. This could become a moot point however, because if Kraft takes control of football operations away from Belichick he will quit, at which point they will obviously have to restructure the entire organization. And if Belichick decides to take matters into his own hands, and retire after the season I could see them making Groh the GM, Wolf Head of Player Personnel, and Mayo the Head Coach.

During this morning’s Toucher & Rich radio program, Breer clarifies what was said on Colin Cowherd. He had acknowledged the existence of internal discussions within the organization regarding the future of the franchise, particularly post-Belichick. He pointed out that these conversations had occurred at various levels, even citing the case of Jerod Mayo. Breer also mentioned that Robert Kraft had been exposed to criticism both locally and nationally, suggesting that Kraft might have been aware of the comments made on their station.

He clarified that the reports misrepresent his words by suggesting that Robert Kraft was discussing firing Bill Belichick when, in reality, the conversations were about exit strategies and the post-Belichick era. He expressed frustration at how such reports focus on generating retweets rather than accurately presenting their content and acknowledged that he appreciates content promotion as long as it’s done accurately.
what an idiot.

The problem with this year is last year. BB completely ****ed it up (we are all human), mostly with his coaching appointments. So now we have a broken QB and a terrible roster on O (and a decimated defense, which is not his fault).

I think it's over. The history books should show 2022 as the cause for the demise, IMnHO.

Agree. I’d like to see a super bombastic star-spangled AF era where the uniforms are just popping and vomiting red, white and blue tackiness all over you— like you’re at a rodeo in 1972 and they have an America ****-ya stand for things and reasons just looking cowgirl boots as hell. Like basically a total ****ing nightmare. Think that would be awesome.

Let a new era and new team and new attitude and new identity completely take over it Bill is out.

Bill isn’t going anywhere this season or next. Of course, that’s just my opinion but I really don’t see it happening. That worries me. If I was Bill and I finish this season the way it started, my ass would be looking to improve the team asap, future be damned.

I gotta win and it’s gotta happen NOW. If not, I’m gone.

That’s gotta be his plan if he gets no assurance from RK, right? In which case, be prepared to see a journeyman veteran qb brought in here to compete with Mac. The draft will be dedicated to the trenches on both sides of the ball and maybe TE & WR. Could see a flier in rds 2-4 on a qb if there is a guy that falls. With Bills coaching prowess, that gets us back to 8-10 win territory. Not bad, but the team may go back to getting older.

Asked a fortune teller at Weir’s beach back in 2012 how the Belichick era would end.

He told me Gomer Pile’s goober great grandson was going to have a baby with a ****tier, dumber version of Andy Dalton, and he was going to be slapping people in the nuts and telling everyone he has to improve on the little things while scoring 40 points for the other team. He laughed and laughed, then said Belichick was going to be blamed for his interceptions and get fired.

I never believed it until now.

Fools gold is thinking a 71 year old HC who hasn't been good since 2018 is the answer
You mean thinking the best to ever do it is a good choice instead of an unknown. You are funny
No, professional football players sit out practice when they're healthy because they're ****ing slackers making bid-ness decisions with no loyalty whatsoever to the franchise except for the game checks.

So essentially everyone but you is an incompetent scum bag and if everyone would just do what you say the world would be great. And get off your lawn.

Let the record show that if you fire him, you get nothing in return for him.

I think Kraft should sit Belichick down during the offseason and tell him we'd like to keep you as HC, but you are no longer the GM of this team. (I have been advocating this for roughly 5 years by the way.) However, out of respect, I would give him the option to pursue opportunities elsewhere. (Please note the above assumes Belichick is still under contract.... if his contract expires after 2023, then Belichick doesn't need Kraft's permission to pursue other opportunities).

My concern is that Bill has it in his contract that he gets to be GM so in order to remove GM powers from Bill, they'd have to fire him outright (again, meaning they get nothing for him). But see if Belichick wants to stay here as HC only, if he wants to retire, or if he wants to go elsewhere.

That puts the pickleball in Bill's court.

If Kraft parts ways with BB I always thought after 23 years and 6 titles BB would get the courtesy of resigning or retiring gracefully instead of the team firing him outright.

Now I'm not so sure they will give him that courtesy.

He didn’t give Brady that courtesy why does he deserve it
