REPORT: Good News Following Tom Brady's MRI

not sure how dropping back and going 0-fer on the longball is a mind meld
Just joking man. I'm excited to see how they perform in about two weeks.

They were also clearly playing not to win either but just to work on some stuff. After watching that game I wonder if the results of the resting some starters poll would have changed knowing this was how the coaching staff viewed the game.
I hate the "they were not playing to win" argument.

They were playing to win. If they weren't then Brady would not have been out there.

They were trying to win based on the players that were out there ready to play and what they needed to work on.

Clearly, Brady needs more game reps with the oline and the receivers. What if JE11 can't go?

The online needs work in the passing and running game.

Yesterday did not increase my confidence. It made it a little worse actually.

I think the D will get better with healthier players.

Brady got hurt, and lost the game that gave us HFA. I think BB really screwed this time.

That's great news on paper...but I'll wait and see how healthy he really is in two weeks before I get too excited.

I seldom visit the Game Day Thread and even more rarely do I post anything there, but yesterday I was lurking and did respond to one poster who argued that the Pats were protecting Brady by throwing short passes in the backfield, by saying that Brady was at risk as long as Suh was in the game.

Then, Wonder of Wonders!, Suh somehow managed to "roll into" Brady's ankle. He probably practices that move a hundred times a week. If the article is true, we are very lucky that Suh didn't cause the damage he was trying to cause. But I won't believe it until I see him moving around in the pocket on the 16th.

Not sure how Brady getting an MRI that says he has a sprain is good news.

I am livid that no one on the pats stood up to Olivier Vernon or Suh after their cheap shots. Makes me miss Logan mankins.

I encourage everyone to not google "ankle sprain recovery time" for sanity.

This news is good news???

Yea.....I thought the exact same thing after the Vernon hit.

Reaffirmed that this team is going though the motions a little and just wants the playoffs to come.

As long as nothing is seriously torn he should be ok in a couple of weeks.

The fact that he continued to play and hobbled around afterwards <gulp> tells me its not a serious injury and his mobility and throwing will be fine in a couple of weeks.

Could be a garden variety sprain or it could be a high ankle sprain, right?

I don't see how one can get too excited about their chances right now until they play in two weeks and it becomes clear how healthy the team is.

IMHO there are too many questions that none of us have the answers for.

Brady was able to continue in the game because he was warmed, after the game and when the body relax is that the pain and swelling comes. I've had a fair share of ankle sprains playing soccer and training Judo, 2 weeks he should be good to go even with some pain, but that mobility he was showing extending plays will certainly be affected in some degree. My experience was also when I was young so the healing was as fast as possible, I didn't reach the 38 mark but it's certainly slower.

The weird thing is that the way Vernon was going after Brady was almost like he had carte blanche (and maybe a paycheck) to do that, not to be overly worried about conspiracy but that was weird, that cheap shot should be enough for a ref to toss a player out of the game, Brady's neck ricocheted backwards.

Ugh. Any headine with Brady and MRI in it cannot really be classified as good news...

Rubbish.

I have all the answers. I just don't know if they are the right ones.

You know what's really funny? For a lot of NFL teams, yesterday would have been an acceptable game plan. Run alot, no turnovers, conservative QB play. Some NFL fans have to watch games like yesterday's all year long.

God, am I glad to be a Patriots fan.

Whats hilarious is that was the game plan week in and week out in 2001.

Play bend dont break D, have Brady throw some screens, slip routes and crossing patterns to Troy 19 times, hand it off to A Smith and pray.

How is this good news? We knew he didn't break his ankle or foot or something, that was obvious. So this tells us nothing new. He sprained his ankle, everyone in the world knew that. So is it a high ankle or low ankle sprain? Because that's a HUGE distinction that will determine if we have a chance going forward.

Breer just tweeted it's a high ankle sprain. That sucks
