What's the difference between being accosted by a "group" of punks or a "gang" of punks? I believe Tuna also mentioned that the punks were teens or early 20's, making it more likely that they were not drunk (if they were, then its another problem). Gee, maybe it was like leisure Friday where the gang wore Merriman shirts. Who gives a rats asss. The whole point was that it was a very dangerous situation and one that San Diego authorities need to address ASAP.

What planet are you on? Seriously. I did not call out "Hispanics as a whole." (And by the way, as you seem so freaking hell-bent on being PC about this, "Hispanic" is spelled with a capital "H." I'm sure they'd appreciate that little gesture of respect from you.) You are "sure" they were all drunk, huh? How do you know? Were you there behind me? Or is that just "educated" conjecture on your part because you're such an expert on fan behavior of all cultural persuasions? Perhaps you need to step out into the real world occasionally and develop a more balanced perspective. Hopefully, this might temper your obnoxious zeal for jumping down people's throats with claims of racism. Take your high and mighty judgmental B.S. somewhere else.

Precisely. I had the same reaction to the story as in - how is the fact that these thugs are hispanic relevant to the story? If Tunescribe had been accosted by four white guys with green eyes and brown hair, would he have described the encounter as "this group of white guys with green eyes and brown hair"...blah, blah, blah? Of course not, because the race/physical characteristic of the guys is not relevant. The only reasons to mention either are

    1. you're trying to get help with an ID

    2. you're implying that their behaviour is somehow related to their race

However, in this forum, anything but the most blatantly obvious comment, e.g. "i hate blacks", is accepted which is a reflection of the culture of the region. Accept it and move on.

Must be wonderful living in such a simple world where you can make simple conclusions leading to simple judgments. Makes sense that you have a negative reputation points as a "contributor" here (re., the red flag with your screen name), reflecting the ruminations of a simple mind.

Simple mind you are the one who cant find fault in calling the San Diego fighting issue a Hispanic one when plenty of teams in the NFL have had the same problems that could not be atributed to Hispanic people or gangs.

You may not be racist but you certainly are being pretty simple in thinking that there was no fault in your comment.

No, my friend, the "fault" lies in knee-jerk holier-than-though condemnations by folks like you who leap to the racism pulpit whenever ethnicity or cultural persuasion is used to identify people, places or events. There was no racial judgment implied in what I wrote. Get off your high horse.

P.S. Thanks for finally capitalizing "Hispanic." My Latino friends appreciate it.

When did crime percentages become equal amongst all the races in every location in the United States?

I dont know about crime percentages but I promise you from someone who does a lot of road trips that fighting goes on at all Stadiums. Some worse than others. IMO the worst I have seen so far was in Buffalo.

Have you been to Buffalo? Did you see fighting there? and if you did did you than turn around and say there are a lot of Caucasians fighting up there in Buffalo?

You tell me where the fact that the people you saw were Hispanic had anything to do with the problem than I will be willing to admit maybe I had a knee jerk reaction.

I've read through the post and while tempted to call you a jerk :D(just kidding), I think a few may have lost sight of your point.

I see where you are coming from and am surprised others don't.

Fact is, violence at sporting events from any group should not be tolerated at all. The fuel for the fighting can almost always be traced back to heavy alcohol consumption coupled with poor security (for letting the drunks in in the first place).

One only needs to look at Foxboro to see how things can change for the better when things are addressed properly. Gillette is one of the safest places to see a sporting event in the country.

Where is Commissioner notsoGoodall with San Diego enforcement of his fan behavior policy??
