I always thought the all-whites looked too much like pajamas...

For me, the red pajama pants said, "Hi!! My Mommy says we can have a sleepover together tonight!! Hooray!!"

Dunno about everyone else, but when I was a young kid and never knew what football was, when I saw these uniforms on TV, I fell in love with the team (back then with Grogan)...

So, I have a fondness on these "retro" forms...

Millions? No, maybe a couple thousand. At least, that's how many the Krafts hope will patronize the Gillette pro shop for throwback paraphernalia. But if the Patriots end up losing in those clunky looking red-and-white monstrosities, it really WILL be a trip down memory lane.

Both teams' owners screwed themselves and their fans and they now have eight Super Bowl titles between them looking stupid so they have only themselves to blame

You're right, most of us who packed Schaefer in the 70's & 80's, and watched on TV are dying or dead by now

I was at the game, it was against the Lions. I don't remember if they won or lost that day but from what I recall when it came to the vote there was more laughter (at) than cheering for the totally ridiculous new logo. I actually kind of thought the new logo was a ruse intended to get some sales going for Pat Patriots merch. Like too many things they tried, it didn’t quite work out as the Sullivans hoped, ruse or not, but I give them credit for trying hard like they always did.

i‘m happy to see the retro look a couple of times a year, but only as a change of pace. I would like to see them throw in the original helmet decal with the tricorn cap and number on the helmet once in a while too. I did like the first iteration of the Elvis unis once they got rid of the red numbers on blue unis mistake. I hated the “shiny“ blue second iteration with the bizarre giant Elvis on the shoulders. The third iteration, i.e., “championship Elvis” is my favorite. The current iteration is just a big meh for me.

Yup, it was a crowd cheering type of vote. It was a long time ago, so I don't remember the specific details, but I clearly remember being surprised by how easy it was to determine the winner. I think it was called Schaeffer Stadium back then, maybe it was Sullivan Stadium at that point?? Anyway, glad they got rid of that stadium, but still bummed the got rid of the original logo/uniforms.
