Red Sox sign Trevor Story!!

Is he a left-handed power-hitting 1B/OF?

Because if he isn't, then...

I don't like it, his offensive numbers are skewed by playing in Colorado.

I agree. I don't think the Red Sox have any intention of resigning bogarts.

Why wouldn't they?

This organization really, Really doesn't need another Mookie Betts situation on their hands; otherwise: #FireChaim

i wonder what bogarts is thinking? who is going to play second? i think bogi is as good as gone.
i assume Story plays 2b this years and then moves to SS if Bogarts leaves

Chances are good he'll become a better hitter without having to relearn how to hit a curveball after every home stand. Don't worry about him. Hell, Fenway turned Bill Mueller into a batting champion, right?

I'm trying to find the report I read on how his numbers translate to Fenway. Someone much smarter that I crunched his numbers and looking at his hit chart and a bunch of other stats, he would have hit 40 something HRs and over .300 average. He is a great talent and a great get for us.

I don't know how i feel about this signing. I guess he's good insurance if bogi opts out after this season. I was hoping the team would sign a starting OF. The last thing i want to see. Is JBJ starting every game. That's a nightmare.

I found baseball savant supported your position claiming that Story would have hit more Hrs. In Fenway in 1998-9 than Coors. He is a lifetime .241 hitter away from Coors though.

How much has Xander's defensive liabilities factored Into this decision? Bogie is not receptive to moving positions so I think he's history.

Yep, wherever the lowest spot in a batting order is, that's where JBJ should go... If he's in the lineup at all...
