He's fairly handy defensively in RF but the offensive output has been in a steady decline for a while now.

He declined last year, especially in the 2nd half, and so far this year. But that doesn't change the fact that he has been a good player for us. He gets crap from a lot of Sox fans because he's not a "dirt dog" and he is overpaid.

My only gripe with JD is the production isn't matching 14 million for this season. That's not his fault that's what the Red Sox were willing to pay him.

He's been a fine player for the Sox.
