Red Sox 2018...WORLD SERIES...CHAMPIONS!!!

The limped dycked sports yakkers on Sportstalk will view this win in the context of David Price, who had a very successful second half of the season, it is what they do and they will do everything in their non power to win some sort of contest for whoever frames the best argument as to how bad David really is... and how he should not be on this team.. blah, blah, blah!!!

They want this guy driven out of town.. with no idea of how to make this team as good if not better without him. Most of the Price discontent has to do with his "rudeness" to the media, that is all I need to know..
Price pitched very, very well - especially when Sale was unavailable the last 2 months. Even when he got his pitching hand nailed, he missed one start. The Yankees were still lurking then. Without Price, the pitching staff could have crashed during that 3-4 week period.

Yeah it got a bit intense last night but Kimbrell gutted out another one which is a great sign. As hairy as that got Kimbrell showed the backbone needed to get through a tight spot on a big stage. Good stuff overall.
I kept thinking he could have left Sale in and it would have so much less stressful. Kimbrell seems to enjoy these near death experiences.

IIRC, last night was he first time in the post season Yankees-Red Sox rivalry that there was an elimination game where the Red Sox could eliminate the Yankees where they themselves were not at risk of elimination ( i.e. a one game playoff in 1978 or 49 or a game 7 like 2003 or 2004)..
After the trauma of 1978 and attending college in NY State surrounded by Yankee fans, every victory over NYY is sweet.....

My friend I was watching the game with said that but...you have your closer to get those last tough three outs. You have to go to him there. That's his job.

The Yankees should have left the bats on their shoulders and let Kimbrell win the game for them. He couldn't find the strike zone even if he had a map.

Great seeing the NY crowd get all optimistic, loud and obnoxious in the 9th only to have them lose. F New York.
Yeah I felt the same thing. I especially loved seeing those kids who were going crazy during the rally get a hard lesson in sports fandom just a few moments later. I drink their tears.

FYI, the Sox were blasting "New York, New York" by Frank Sinatra in the locker room after the game.

Which by the law of transitive properties, makes them punks.

I agree, but in the middle of the bottom of the 9th, that did not stop me from wishing Sale was out there.

The Red Sox spend more than almost any other team over the past 15 years in baseball. There’s no salary cap to even the field. They should be in the playoffs.
With the kind of regular season they had, losing in the first friend would’ve been so disappointing this year. Just ask the early 2000’s Colts fans.

The luxury tax is, in effect, a soft salary cap. It doesn't make the playing field completely level, but it does smooth it out a fair bit, and the U.S. sport notion of perfect parity has never been a smart idea anyway.

I'll only tune in if the Sox build a commanding lead in the series. Let's say 3-1.
Don't watch. You'll jinx it.

After seeing what this team did to the Yankees lineup and pitching in their house I'm all in on this team.

Sox in 6.

A large part of that was a shot at Judge who had trolled Red Sox fans by playing the song on a speaker after the Yanks' game 2 win at Fenway.

Looks like he only motivated the Sox.

Mine dates back to the Boone walk-off homerun in game 7 of the '03 ALCS. I've been a cautious, fair-weather, band-wagon fan ever since then. Better for my health. I turned off the TV last night when Kimbrell threw four straight balls to Judge.
i always expect the worst. i dont think there is any cure. ive seen them win three times and i still cant shake it. bucky dent threw out the first pitch last night.

Backbone? He looked like a puddle. He is lucky they got that last out.

He didn't have his best night but he got through it.

The ump was being an ass on top of it. Kimbrell had a tight box while the yanks had a freaking barn. That was bullshyt.
