Red Sox 2018...WORLD SERIES...CHAMPIONS!!!

That was fun! Are they going to swept by the Astros now?
Awww, have a little faith! I think the Red Sox's best asset may be Alex Cora. The unassuming man with a plan. Sort of like BB, but with a public bit of a smile and a personality (I say public because I know BB is different behind closed doors).

So true! The Red Sox of my youth have damaged my ability to watch them. When things started going badly in the 9th last night I told my daughter, "Turn it off! Here they go!" Luckily she looked at my like I was crazy and left it on
Red Sox PTSD lasts a long, long time and is very resistant to medication and World Series titles.

Pitching rotation has been announced... Sale then Price... Games 1,2.. um Cora, haven't we discussed this already..? Yikes 0-9 now.!!

So bet the farm on a Game 2 loss.

Cora was also the bench coach for the Astros last year. That’s gotta count for something...

Lets hope he has the same effect on the 'Stros as Fat Matt did on the Patriots.

After seeing what this team did to the Yankees lineup and pitching in their house I'm all in on this team.

Sox in 6.

As imposing as the Yankee lineup is, they are one dimensional. If you keep the ball in the park, they just aren't going to score more than 2 or 3 runs. Houston is a new level entirely.

Starting Price makes me sick.

However, he has pitched well vs HOU this year.

If we are going to win it all, Price needs to be good at some point. Sale might not win every start and Porcello/Eovaldi are not likely to be good every time out. Remember they both sucked the next time out after their great starts versus NY in August.

I'm still in for Price at home. Let's hope the mental block is just a Yankee thing.

agreed, but if he sucks against a non yankees team, it really will be his last start

he is being given his final chance as a postseason starter, if he blows this, Cora will never again have him start in the postseason, not this year, not any year

Postseason Price wasn't very good either when he was wearing a Jays uniform.

He was very good in relief in last year's ALDS though against HOU. Hopefully there's more where that came from.

All true but it still shows the resilience and heart of this team to go into an environment like that and dominate. They can beat the Astros, and will IMO.

Yeah, the Astros look unbeatable....I am just hoping for the best.

OTOH, I love throwing Price out there for game 2...at some point he's gotta win a play-off game, right?

i have post tramatic yankee syndrome dating back to the bucky dent game.

You had to bring that up?

My father, brother and I had 4 upper box seats in line with first base that year. The seats were about 3 rows up from the main aisle and alongside the exit so we were the only people in that row. They were also just high enough so that the folks walking along the main aisle weren't in our way.

My f***ing brother didn't return the paperwork for the one game playoff, in spite of my repeated reminders, so we didn't get the seats for that game, though we did get our same seats for the playoffs. Many fans weren't so lucky and were moved out of their seats so some politician could sit there.

When I found out that we lost the one game playoff tickets I called my a***ole brother and started to scream at him. The dumb prick said that we could watch the game on TV anyway. That was when I reminded him that we could have had all or most of the money for the season returned by selling two of those tickets and gone to the game.

I still can't talk to him about it.

Having been scarred by 72 ( Aparicio tripped rounding third), 1975 game 7, 78 and the 14 game collapse, 86 and game 6, not to mention 2003........after 2004/07/13 it's gravy... Beating the Yankees is priceless, doing it in their house twice now ( o4 and last night) is extra sweet.. Funny how you never hear about a curse when the Bomber have gone 1-7 versus Red Sox since 04 in post-season....
Living outside the Boston media circus/market/zoo gives a different perspective. PHillies fans are jealous. They too are a major market but cant seem to sign the free agents or get an organization that is committed to winning... There are faux pas along the way.. But to win 108 games, you have to know what you're doing. Hope it continues....

The curse was broken by the anti-Bambino Big Papi.

I don't care how people define clutch or even if they want to argue if it's real but Papi's hits in games 4 and 5 were the clutchest **** I'd ever witnessed until the 28-3 comeback.

Side note: Veritek jacking up Rodriguez on the first base line sparked the turn around Imo. What a badass moment that was.

i think your brother did you a favor considering how the game went.

So bet the farm on a Game 2 loss.

Nothing good about game two, anyway. Whoever scheduled it either doesn't care about the NFL or is anti-Patriots.

They won’t.
