Since we're still months from FA, I'll keep this simple.

Aside from the obvious (QB/anything ST), what position(s) would you most hate to see the Pats take in the first round? If you have specific players mocked in the top two rounds that are off your board, that's fine, too. (I think we can trust Vrabel et al. not to pull another Jordan Richards-type pick.)

1. The only thing I'd say is that the Vrabel brains trust apparently wanted Jonah Savanaiia whereas Eliot Wolf wanted Treveyon Henderson. Thankfully we know how that ended up so I wouldn't be 100% confident in the brains trust just yet.

2. Aside from the obvious (RB, QB etc), I don't have a position I'd hate as long as they're BPA. CB and DT are towards the back of the pack needs wise but I'd be fine with a Kayden McDonald or Avieon Terrell because they'd likely fit BPA.

3. We have a promising young corps. Keep building for the next 4-5 years, not just for next year. BPA all the way. Of course FA might change that much like last year where we were left with just one gaping need following FA.

That's not the same thing. Savaiinaea was projected to go in the second round, and would've been a defensible pick at the time. (He went to Miami at 37.) Richards was projected to go in rounds 5-7.

I wasn't comparing him to Richards just pointing out the brains trust aren't infallible and that Eliot wolf isn't trash. On this one occasion, Wolf got it right. The brains trust wouldn't have. I was saying no more than that.

Fair enough. All I was trying to say is that we can rule out one specific type of error (way overdrafting a day 3 player). As I've noted several times, essentially every team whiffs on one of their first three picks almost every single year.

I agree we won't be reaching a la BB although that doesn't rule out the board thinking we have at some point (see Craig Woodson or even Will Campbell). I am looking forward to years of normal drafts hopefully, something we couldn't expect under BB.

I wouldn't hate any position per se, if an argument could be made that the player selected was BPA. I'm leaning away from WR, RB, DT and S in the 1st, but a lot depends on who is available.

RB is definitely a no go in the 1st.

I havent done much scouting on the strength of this class yet but that factors in how I feel about the later rounds more than anything.
