Re-thinking the defensive line/player predictions

I currently showing 15 front 7 players and 10 DB's post Fanene:

DT (4) Vince Wilfork, Kyle Love, Ron Brace, Gerard Warren
ILB(4) Jerod Mayo, Brandon Spikes, Donta Hightower, Jeff Tarpinian
OLB(3) Rob Ninkovich, Jermaine Cunningham, Bobby Carpenter

CB (5) Devin McCourty, Ras-I Dowling, Kyle Arrington, Sterling Moore, Alfonzo Dennard
SS (3) Steve Gregory, Nate Ebner, James Ihedigbo


Pryor to PUP

This may be the way to go. Who are your other 2 DB's though? I think you forgot Wilson as a safety right off the bat too. I like Ihedigbo as a "SS" backup to Chung, in whatever positional role you'd call it. I think we need either Ihedigbo or Barrett in that backup role, although obviously we don't want to see much of them.


The only thing I may disagree with is Dennard, as I think he is an IR candidate myself but we'll have to see.

I would cross Dennard out, bringing us down to 7. Then I'd add Wilson making 8, and one or two of Cole/Allen/Barrett. We could also choose to only add one of Cole/Allen/Barrett bringing it to 9, and then comb the roster cuts to get the 10th player.

Any love on the board for Milton's own Tim Bulman?

Full disclosure: my wife & one of her sisters used to babysit Tim & his siblings;
but he also is closest to Fanene in height/weight, and is scheme diverse.

I've always thought that Bill should have persued Bulman instead of Mike Wright
as a UDFA after the 2005 draft.
