He was an excellent shut-down corner. Watch the tape of the 85 AFCC and see what he does to Clayton and Duper all game long.
that may be the last time, ever, that a sportswriter cold****s an nfl player.Patsfanin Philly said:http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/articles/2005/01/21/houston_patriot/
All I can think of is his confrontation with McDonough, and that was after a victory.......

Being Irish myself, I've heard plenty of "war stories". Let's just say they get better over the years and beers.
By the way, Ray was embarassed by the incident and Mrs. McDonough says he is a wonderful guy. You'll have to take my word for that as I'll never find the article with Mrs. McDonough's comments again, I'm sure.
Great, tough, consistent player IMO.
An NFL player with anger management issues? Hard to believe.

NEM said:He was a super guy, too. One year when I was very actively involved in the Stoughton Little League, I went over to see him at his home, and invited him down to my team's opening game. I never thought he would come, but just before the game, there he was, in the dugout with my kids and they were excited ... and he spent time with them too. We won the game, and even won the town champinship that year.
Once before I was in Jim Nance's home in Mattapan before Imoved to Stoughton and invited him down to the Mattapan Little League opening day, and he came, too.
He had the biggest White poodles I have ever seen.
