Long overdue and would surely speed the game up.

Cricket has been doing this for 30 years. They've had hawkeye and ball-tracking (before even tennis did) and they have an off-field umpire who uses the tech to make the decisions so on-field umpires don't have to go/do anything. They signal to the TV umpire to review the decision or the appeal, and he does and reverts on the big screen. Everything takes seconds. Reviews can be done in 30-40 seconds.

Here's an example where the umpire gave the batsman out 3 times in the same over and he reviewed and was reprieved each time. All happens pretty quick.
