Yea and how much money do you get for being inducted into the HoF?

Nothing directly, but I'm guessing HOF players get more endorsements post-career than non-HOFers on average.

Not that that should really factor into his decision, but there are more ways to get money than just someone handing you a check for a direct service.

I thought that the jets were supposed to be in rebuild mode. They just cut half their starters and are trying to climb out of salary cap hell.

They have holes up and down their roster, they pretty much need to fill every position on the team. Even their most optimistic fan isn't expecting them to compete for the next 2 or 3 years.

So why would they offer Hightower $13M....which is probably 30% more than the next highest offer?

Jets have 29 mill in cap space right now..so they have $$

I think he goes to NY, if the $13mil is a real offer, if the Pats keep their offer at $10m/yr.

Pittsburgh is one thing, they're decent. But I just can't see a guy who has won almost every game for 9 years between Bama and NE ending up with a team (Jets) that is probably going to go 3-13.

Well, remember that these guys have egos and boatloads of confidence, or they wouldn't have made it that far. Some of them will honestly think that "sure, they're not a contender now, but that's because they didn't have me. I'll make them a contender." And sometimes they're right.

In all honesty, how many more millions of dollars would it take for you to choose the Jets over New England? If NE is offering you $10 million, NYJ may have to be $15 million as you can tell from here it's going to be a miserable couple of years. Pittsburgh at least looks to be on track for a winning season at least.

I have no Jets friends. But I have a Steelers friend who keeps saying Hightower is a more mentally stable Brandon Spikes. So if they get him I'll throw that back in his face.
