Ranking NFL WR, TE, RB groups for 2025: Best and worst teams

Interestingly the Bills are #28, Jets are #27 and Miami #10... which may bode well for our Defense.
Without regard this is just another speculative article that does not consider the return of Josh McDaniels..

Yeah, that's pretty doubtful IMO.

“Article” is just lol.

If Diggs has a freakish ACL recovery and if Henderson is a ROY type RB and if Williams is a starting caliber NFL WR then I think we can be pretty good. Lots of IFs though.

You can play the semantics of whether one team should be 3 or 4 spots higher but in the big picture not sure how anyone could say that on paper right now we don't have amongst the worst skill position players in the NFL. At least this year, unlike some recent years, there's a path to respectability though. Too many ifs to rank highly now but at least you don't have to put on full on Patriots colored glasses to see a decent group, you just have to squint really, really hard.

SKILL PLAYERS NOT INCLUDING QB
===================
RB
about average, maybe a bit below

TE
about average, perhaps a bit below

WR
between 30 and 32
============
That doesn't mean #30 to me. Not good, but not #30.

I absolutely understand the WRs being low-tier right now, but I have a hard time believing there are 29 teams with a better collection of RBs than Stevenson, Gibson and Henderson, and that there are 29 teams with a better top 2 TEs than Henry and Hooper. The article itself just says "Stevenson fumbled a lot last year" and doesn't even mention the TEs at all.

I think TE is average to maybe even slightly above average.

RB is average, but with Josh calling plays and the projected development of Henderson, this could be way above average.

WR's suck, especially after Diggs.

IT's ESPN, and I'm, not giving them the click. It certainly seems the best way to get clicks is to bash the Pats and then the fans come to defend.

Patriots are ranked #30
But aside from that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

I mean they're not wrong - these guys haven't proven anything yet, though nor has the writer of this article.

I have a feeling that Vrabel will be scanning the cuts of other teams for some shadow squad options at the very least.

Do you expect Vrabel to be signing someone cut at TE to make our 53? I don't.

This season can't come soon enough. I can't even fake hype about the season when every useless article is just like "oh yeah btw remember your team was at its literal worst last year and the most suffering units didn't see acquisitions that drastically changed your prospects"

Which is true. I mean I'm going to remain optimistic, but it just makes for ****ty, bummy reading. Just gimme some goddamn OL snaps so we can start talking.

All of these rankings are based on 2025 production. They are not a projection. We will continue to be ranked in the bottom 5 until numbers prove otherwise.

I think the pairing of Williams and Chism will ultimately be the highlight of this WR class, so I am hopeful.
