Did AJ Edds lift, I wonder? There's no way that he would fit as an ILB in our defense if he can lift 225 only 16 times. That's Gary Guyton weak.

Ahoy, Captain! From what I could find online, it appears that Edds improved his bench press by 2. Now, 18 isn't exactly strong-man levels of proficiency, but it does show an excellent commitment to improving rapidly. There's no doubt in my mind that he can gain the strength necessary to stack and shed, and he's already great in coverage. Why not bring him in?

If Edds is still on the board in the 6th round, and SILB hasn't yet been drafted, then he could be the guy. But if Jamar Cheney is there too...

Damn that Burgess (& Alex Smith) trade. We could really, really use a 3rd & a 5th.

Gotta feel bad for Brandon. I sincerely hope he posts a better time at his next pro day. Breaking the 5.0 threshold would be a good place to start, but hitting the 4.8s would be ideal.

This is a good thing, we're more likely to get him in the later rounds.

Bench press doesn't always equal functional strength, and vice versa. Coach Doyle at Iowa doesn't prepare players for the combine, he prepares them for football. I have ZERO concern about Edds' strength.

Cappy Downer is a Gholston fan, it just is what it is.

Hey now...

All I'm saying is that some CBs benched more than 16, but I wouldn't want them taking on Guards either.

Edds looks more like a 4-3 OLB to me, though I'd rather have him next to Mayo than Guyton (or Alexander or Tom Williams).

guyton is only going to get stronger and better. i think we are fine at ilb with mayo and guyton growing and have knowledgable eric alexander and prolly a solid backup in mckenzie

Draft Nasty :: FCS prospects competing with FBS players for top billing in Pro Days
Eastern Kentucky OL Derek Hardman measured in at 6054,300 pounds, ran the 40-yard dash in the 5.15 seconds, the 20 yd short shuttle in 4.56 and posted a 3 cone drill time of 7.90. He measured a 31-inch vertical jump, an 8-foot-7 broad jump and did 22 reps of 225 pounds.

William & Mary Sean Lissemore measured in at 6030, 298 pounds and ran the 40-yard dash in 4.83 seconds. He measured a 30-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot-3 inch broad jump and did 36 reps of 225 pounds.

Montana S Shann Schillinger ran the 40-yard dash in the 4.42 - 4.49 second range. He measured a 37.5-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot-0 broad jump, and did 21 reps of 225 pounds. Schillinger displays a nice disposition in his play and takes solid angles when in man coverage.

Central Arkansas DE/OLB Larry Hart ran the 40-yard dash in the 4.59 seconds, he ran the short shuttle in 4.16, and the 3 cone drill in 6.93 seconds. He measured a 33.5-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot-1 broad jump, and did 24 reps of 225 pounds. Look for 3-4 teams in search of an OLB to take a long look at Hart in the latter portion of this year's draft.
The first three have been on my radar for a bit, Hart didn't stand out the first time I watched Texas v. nation, but his numbers are worth a second look.
